Looks like previous owner coded it that way using BimmerCODE.
Normally it defaults to Comfort.

but it is backward to what you want, they are trying to get the car to Default to Ecopro+

BimmerCode also can enable driving mode memory so the car stays in the previously selected mode on the next restart. Now that I have the feature, I consider it a must.
