Glad to join this group. Bought Felix 3 years ago from the local BMW dealer. Had to replace the A/C compressor this past summer. That's the only major work. 76,000km

What year and model is Felix? What failed in the compressor? If it was the compressor section and not its motor, did it spread metal particles through the refrigerant lines?

2014 Rex. Not sure what failed. Compressor replacement was quoted at CAD$4600 I had an extended warranty, but they suggested they could source a second hand one and would only pay $2600! Mechanic said "no way" he'd install a used one. So I paid the difference. I was worried about shrapnel in the battery cooling path but that was negative.
