Those who swapped in a 12V lithium - how are things going?

Greetings All, For those that installed a 12v Lithium battery to replace their 12v SLA/AGM battery - how is it working out for you? Can you share which make/model of battery you used and for how long? In South Florida, we are lucky if we can have our 12v batteries last 3-4 years - going to be...

Inner tire wear - need alignment or normal?

Our pair of i3 were eating the inside edge of the tires since we go them (one had 3K miles when we bought it - so assumed alignment was ok)....boy were we wrong - got an alignment since getting tires anyway (was additional $75) - the one wheel that was the biggest offender was way out of...

$2.5K to replace Expansion Valve for Battery cooling?

Greetings All!, summary: $2,504 seems really high to replace an expansion valve? - in 2017 this costed $480 (albiet for the Air conditioning system - but the battery and the cabin AC share the same system) Got a drivetrain error a few times and phantom CELs - thinking the fuel pressure sensor...

How does BMW perform the Battery Capacity Test?

Talked to them again today - they were a bit baffled when I asked if they were running the battery drain tests last night - as they said they were only charging the vehicles - I suppose they must have left the side lights and interior lights on, and maybe that drained the battery ever so...

How does BMW perform the Battery Capacity Test?

Looks like they switched cars - the one (49.5K) that was updating the time overnight, stopped, and the other one (21K) is doing the green light/plugged into the EVSE and time update thing now (and notifications windows down, doors open, side lights on)...looking at it again the last time it...

How does BMW perform the Battery Capacity Test?

Greetings All, Both our i3(s) are still at the shop :-/ On the last status call they said they are doing a battery capacity test on both of them (one with 49.5K miles, the other with 21K miles)... Checking on both of them via iremote - I see both are 100% charged, but one of them (the one...

BMW is now enforcing complimentary maintenance is only for original owners...

It looks like BMW (at least in my area) is now enforcing the 4 year/50K mile maintenance plan is for the original buyer only and not transferable.... https://www.bmwusa.com/explore/bmw-value/bmw-maintenance/terms-and-conditions.html "... NON-TRANSFERABILITY These maintenance programs are...

Final service visit of our maintenance plan

This is excellent news! We just dropped off the i3 that hasn't had a software update since late 2016 ... the one before the silly if you are a 105lb person not wearing your safety belt, you'll get a spinal injury in a crash update...the one that I suspect is tied to the steering wheel getting...

Final service visit of our maintenance plan

Our first 2015 i3 REx is in the same boat - it is due for annual inspection with 49.2K on the clock....we'll have to get that questionable software update as well....ugh....I am hoping they change the oil as well, it was last changed in October last year, but the on board computer hasn't said...

So it seems if your i3 was made on or before 06/15 your remote and emobility services last for 10 years?

While reviewing my connecteddrive settings - I noticed one of our 2015 i3 REx the emobility and remote services will expire next year....while the other 2015 i3 REx will last until 2026. Out of curiosity (and wondering if I can extend the emobility and remote services on the one expiring next...

Renewing Remote Services & eMobility Services?

Remote & eMobility Services are expiring in the next year for our 2015, however I do not see an option to extend them (like Advanced Real-Time Traffic Information) on the connected site. Are these services extendable, or are they trying to push folks toward (the expensive) Connected Services...

Why is the charging door so big?

Ok, think I found out why - The Chademo port for the Japanese market is pretty big...especially since it requires it own sealed flap....

Why is the charging door so big?

While pluging in the i3 last night, it occurred to me that the charging door/flap is pretty huge...any guesses on why it is oversized?
