    How best to charge

This is a brilliant link. Thanks Mark H. Loads of info on the i3 by someone that has done a bit more analysis than I ever would 😂 Cheers, Finchie

UK Folks ! Tow bar (Tow hitch in US parlance)

Hi Folks, I'm after one for my bike rack. Has anyone had one installed in the UK ? Who did you use ? Which one ? I've contacted Torklift in the US about their EcoHitch. That is going to be a mighty painful export process ! So, any other ideas ? Cheers, Finchie

Trip meter / odometer mile change discrepancy.

I think it is rounding ! Let’s say your trip started when it was 29,349.4 (displayed as 29,349) That would move to 29,350 when your trip said 0.6 etc etc... You can figure out the exact distance on the odometer by looking at the trip. So if the odo changed when the trip said 0.7, the odometer...

    Next model after 120ah i3

Just in Europe... https://www.bmwblog.com/2018/10/04/bmw-drops-the-i3-rex-in-europe-still-offered-in-the-us/ I also read somewhere that it is also due to the cost of meeting European emissions test - didn’t make business sense based in the volume sold. Can’t find that link though. Cheers, Finchie

Future owner complete newbie needs pre-purchase info.

Not sure why they would have them on at the same price. That seems odd. I’d at least have some differential. Worth asking them why ? Probably subtly different spec and extras ? I’d certainly go for the lower mileage if I could cope with the compromise on extras. That’s just me tho’ ! Cheers...

Chargemaster or Podpoint home charger in the UK

bobbydazzler, that’s fair. I had the same issue - they could only install 2 weeks after I had my i3. So just used 3 pin for 2 weeks which was fine, took about 10 hours to charge. I had to buy a very heavy duty 20m extension lead to cope as a “normal” domestic one kept tripping / overheating...

Future owner complete newbie needs pre-purchase info.

Khigh, ReX is absolutely the way to go ! Brilliant having a “get out of jail free” card. “I see you can hack the REX to maintain current capacity”. So you know, it’s not a hack. All you need to do when below 70% charge (could be 75%) is turn it on and it “holds” the charge where it is. It...

Newbie Question - Finding miles used with ReX !

Thanks for all the comments. The web ConnectedDrive (vs the App) was the perfect solution. It would have been years before I worked that out. What a brilliant forum ! Cheers, Finchie

Newbie Question - Finding miles used with ReX !

Hi Folks, Still loving it, week 4. Trying to embrace the EV philosophy by not using the ReX (only in emergency). Used it a couple of times - completely justifying it and great to have the “get out of jail for free” card. However I would like to know how many miles the ReX has been used. How...

    Connected App in UK

Patni1, This is a much bigger question. I would evaluate whether you go Android or Apple IOS on many more things than the BMW connected app. I am Apple, works fine. I suspect the Android version is exactly the same... You are about to make a life changing decision :D - go Apple where...

    Best mobile phone holder?

A phone holder is essential, as I worship Google Maps (sort it out BMW, your live updates are way out of date !!). Plus Waze for "event alerts" (aka spot the mobile speed camera). I use this one, on a suction cup on the small front window... IMG_6347 by Finchie, on Flickr (Be'jesus - that was...

A week into this world of i3 ownership ...

Aargh - Apologies ! Fake news. I can totally see the AC button from where I sit. It has just never registered. Bit too cold at the moment over in Blighty to worry about AC !!!

A week into this world of i3 ownership ...

Brilliant !! I am right hand drive, so can't see that AC button as it is hidden behind the dial from where I sit. Never knew it was there (note to self - sit in the passenger seat to find out what else I can't see). I'll only need it in 6 months time, but good to know. Cheers, Finchie
