Perhaps Airman, I will get to a full slip cover, but i am more interested in changing the color of the light gray to something that wont show water and dirt so apparently. Will see what can be done with dyes. Will post my success or lack thereof on the thread.
Thanks Airman. That part looks like it has an extra port when compared with the part that the tech was showing. I will let the used one from ebay come in and confirm which part is correct and where it goes. Thanks again.
I have a new to me 2015 I3 REX, and my only complaint is that the light fabric seats stain and look dirty too easily. I get you can buy a total seat recover, but has anyone tried to dye or paint the light tan to something closer to the charcoal color of the dash?
Id be up for trying those. Please text me at and we can take it offline. New to the group so please let me know if there is a better way to accomplish the transaction. Richard
Just bought a used one on ebay. It has a bosch number on it, so i suppose i can try to get a new one somewhere? Autoparts store perhaps. Just need to pull the engine cover and try to find where it goes.
Note: i would love to have a part number to purchase and replace myself. Just found the item used on ebay used, put cannot seem to find it on bmw parts online or any other oem sites.
Dealer tech video says i need one of these to quiet the engine light. See pic. It sits on the engine cover. He called it a fuel tank vent valve and said it had failed internally. I cannot find this part on the schematics. Does anyone know what it is? Thanks.
