I can only speak for me, but the car will charge during the low-cost time, but always pre-condition based on the leave time.

My system was a little flaky lately so took it in and the service manager drove with me for some time and saw the same problems. They reset the system and re-calibrated the camera and it's working pretty flawlessly now. The re-calibration requires them to drive 12 miles the paperwork stated.

The iPhone i Remote app links to "BMWi Smart Charging". It let's you login and then asks for a promotion code. The details say the app is available for BMWi vehicles 2015 and newer. It's not on the app store. Did they abandon the idea?

Nav display stuck on "Software update complete. Turn car off and wait for control panel to turn off" after updating the system via usb drive. Is there any way to force a reboot? Won't leave that screen. UGH.

Noticed a change to the US 2015 i3 where the padded Palm rest to the right of the parking brake was nixed. Can the cover be retrofitted? Worth it?

Based on my experience, it will only unlock the charger when the vehicle is charged if preconditioning is not set. If your car is fully charged by, say 2pm, but you schedule preconditioning and depart time of 4pm, it leaves it locked to draw from the charger when AC comes on.

Helps if I read the manual. LOL Press the lock button on the remote within 10 seconds of the initial lock press and the clown nose will light for 2 seconds indicating the interior motion and vehicle tilt sensors are deactivated.
