Any new BMW i3 owner from Houston in here?

There are a couple here in the Heights.... Mix of BEVs and RExs.... Plus a lot of volts, leafs, and Teslas. A dabble of charging stations, though the ruggles one is always ICE'd.... But it's the Heights, so you're supposed to walk to dinner anyhow! :D

I absolutely love my i3, but I would unfortunately have to agree. I remember when I bought my Volt three years ago being concerned that the build quality was going to be shotty, but it was one of the most solid and reliable cars I've ever owned. I guess vanity comes with a price! :-)

    Dash Rattles

To follow Kilgharrah94027 and JelloSlug's leads, I pulled out the passenger vent assembly last night and agree that it contributes significantly to rattles on that side. I didn't have any felt tape on me, so I couldn't tape the lever as suggested. Kilgharrah94027 --- did you just tape the long...

Yes, and sometimes it seems like that helps and other times ehhh. My partner has deemed it the "Hunt for creak-tober"! Some days it doesn't bother me as much.... NoMoreGas... I saw your suggestion about the frunk latch on another post and tightened that a while back.... I do think it helped...

    Dash Rattles

Ugh... I might have spoke too soon.... It's back to being a rattle monster (all over the dash). Maybe I just have to come to terms with that's how it is.... Has anyone had any luck with addressing this with their respective service team?

    Dash Rattles

Going velcro crazy on the dash arc, combined with putting a couple small pieces of black felt under the corners of where the professional nav screen meets the leather/dash mounts, seems to have eliminated about 90% of the rattles and creaks. :) There is so much flex with this car...

    Dash Rattles

I put some velcro on the arc piece and it seems to have helped the rattle/creak a bit. That being said, I think part of the noises are coming from the thin bezel around the professional NAV screen. It seems like the screen/mount is flexing over bumps/rougher pavement that is making the nasty...

Great, thanks for the info. Did the dis-assembly/re-assembly take care of the rattle for you?

Ok, cool... let me know how that goes. Looks like there is 6 screws holding the whole insert/glove box in.

Has anyone else experienced dash rattles on their i3? I just took delivery of mine last week, which had just over 3k miles on it, as it was one of the extended test drive models (got a great deal). I didn't notice them initially during the very limited time I test drove it at the dealer. It is...

Legacy Blink Charger - Derated to 24A but charging at 16A?

I'm in the states (Houston, TX) and it has charged at 6.6kWh from the ChargePoint at the BMW dealer, so I know the onboard charger can accommodate. I think as you mention my i3 has just been sipping rather than chugging given its high SOC. Thanks.

Legacy Blink Charger - Derated to 24A but charging at 16A?

Yes, 5760 or there about is what I was expecting. Outside of one day in the last week and half, I haven't been at 65% or lower SOC (haven't had any longer trips yet), so the extra timing really hasn't mattered anyhow. I will run it down a bit when I can, and see if it is more adaptable with a...

Legacy Blink Charger - Derated to 24A but charging at 16A?

Thanks... I didn't think about the SOC affecting it, but I believe it was around 65% to 75% when I plugged in. Blink charging summary stated it used 6.2 kWh over 1:42. The Blink hardware is supposed to be capable of 240v/30A, but set to 24A due to firmware refresh from Blink.

Legacy Blink Charger - Derated to 24A but charging at 16A?

Hi Everybody. After being a proud Volt Owner for 3 years, I made the plunge earlier this week to a pure Electric 2014 i3 BEV. I was really torn between staying with a REx platform, but in the end decided to go BEV, based upon some of my previous Volt Stats and overall lower cost. Living in the...
