Scary incident on the motorway today.

My active cruise control has always acted like this with a notice on the main screen requiring a press on the Idrive. The REX problem I have not had but it did kick in automatically when I got to a 3 mile electric range, are you sure the REX was not running as mine seems to stop when I stop.

My Ipad always updates, Android phone is hit and miss. I assume something to do with the connection to the server. Ipad is via wifi and broadband, Android is over 3G.

get a REx, no need for fast DC?

I have a Rex with the DC option, and find that with a little bit of planning I can get from near the Dartford Crossing to St Austell in Cornwall (260 miles) on two DC charges and approx 50 miles of petrol. The additional time in charging twice (say 30 mins each) is used for a comfort stop and...

    UK Home Charging

New circuits in the UK have to be installed and certified by a qualified electrician, and fuses and wiring used are rated but that does not mean that is the maximum they can draw.

    UK Home Charging

The wall box is not connected via a plug, it is hardwired on its own circuit back to an RCD breaker of 32A (about 10 milliseconds), then via a smart meter into the main fuse board where again protect by another 32A breaker. The whole house is on 100A fuse (sealed by the electricity) supplier. I...

    UK Home Charging

I have the BMW wallbox and don't know of any advantages over any others, however when I had a problem with the onboard charger (KLE) BMW Icare wanted to know type of charger used. I suggest as the car was tripping the house fuse that had it not been a BMW box I may have had a fight to get them...
