My Rex currently under Lemon Law review by BMW NA

I have decided to go for one more try of the i3 REX. So the question didn't really come up. Wish me luck  !

My Rex currently under Lemon Law review by BMW NA

I heard from BMW NA today, right on schedule: 9 days after they quoted me 7-10 days for a response. They have decided that CA lemon laws apply and are offering to buy back my i3 REX. So, while the experience with the car and the maintenance was extremely painful, the lemon law process was...

    REX and Green decals application

Same happened to me. Frustrating. I picked up my REG-256 today though, race you to post office!

    REX and Green decals application

California specific thread I assume ;) Same happened to me. Dealership reported it as an Electric Vehicle, but they are supposed to report it as Q, Plug-in hybrid. Have to stop by and get a REG-256 from the dealership explaining their error.

My Rex currently under Lemon Law review by BMW NA

For those on the Facebook i3 page, this is repeat information as I have been giving a blow by blow color commentary throughout. However, that is not a publicly searchable site, and I feel like my experience is worth others having the opportunity to review. I also assume that people might be...

75 miles with some big hills... all electric

What OS? I used "Paint" which came with Windows. But if you want something more powerful, check out Gimp. Yes, it takes practice - and I'm still learning. Funny thing is on the first leg when I hit that big hill early on, my predicted battery mileage quickly dumps down to 44 miles, but then...

75 miles with some big hills... all electric

The following image shows my commute for the other day. On the way in, I took a different route that is longer and has more hills, but avoided traffic. On the way home it was a little more direct and without as steep of grades. When I got home, the battery was still saying 10 more miles...

Rex sound level from outside and inside

And thank heavens for that! Otherwise if your going uphill and your SOC goes to 0% and your speed starts to dwindle toward 0 mph, you couldn't pull over and let the REx get you enough charge to make it over the hill. I'm getting better at avoiding that situation, but it did happen once.

    My First Long REx Trip

I'm not sure an app is necessary. When going uphill on REx-power, if you proactively slow down to around 55 mph in ECO mode it seems like you can go up forever without loosing speed. On these long CA inclines there are typically a bunch of people going 55 so you will have some company...

    Stitcher Disappeared

Cool, I'll try that this evening. I can still listen to Stitcher over bluetooth, and control it using my pebble watch, LOL! But I'd rather use the integrated connected app.

    Basic Physics...

Just to chime in. In kevenb61's defense, there is nothing technically indecent, amoral or even unchristian about being called "anal". Per wikipedia "The term anal retentive (also anally retentive), commonly abbreviated to anal,[1] is used to describe a person who pays such attention to detail...

Ugh... now I have an airbag light

On week 4 owning my i3. So first my 12V battery went bad. Then some pressure sensor went. This morning, the red airbag light went on and didn't go off. This happened the other day, but it disappeared and I hoped it wouldn't happen again... but it did. So far, the BMW service center has had...

    Premium Fuel?

A friend of mine that owns a Volt says he fills it with premium fuel because he thinks it lasts longer sitting in the tank before it goes bad. Any thoughts on that?
