Do not turn off engine, engine restart will not be possible.

The error message did not return for my i3. I returned my car to BMW in March 2017. (It was only a 24-month Owner's Choice deal, and the buy-out price was astronomically higher than the car's value.) Hope your service center figures out how to fix yours soon!

    Coding the i3

I've had no problems coding under Windows 10. I'll bet earlier versions work too.

Ah. I set up my coding environment with PSdZData 54.1 a few months ago, and since that works for me, I'm not planning to change my configuration at this time.

Yes, there are coding guides for the i3. If you're on fb, check the i3 group's files section.

    Navigation map update process ?

MMDV. My car shipped with 2015-1 when I bought it Feb 2015. I downloaded 2015-2 onto a USB stick, but the car would not update without entering a code, and the code I got from the dealer for 2015-1 did not work. I called BMW and asked them to give me 2015-2, because it came out so soon after I...

I've never had to get a code by email. I've had no trouble coding, using the code I generated myself. Use PSdZData Lite 54.1 (not newer). Newer versions have trimmed descriptions. Send me a private message.

You do not need to email anyone for a code any longer. There is a token generator.

Use E-Sys 3.26.1, PSdZData 54.1 Lite, and a few additional files; PM me if you need them.

I agree, it sounds like TNK_VOLL_ANZEIGE has not been changed to 8_liter as it should have been. Until recently, that third step had not been in the coding instructions in the i3 Facebook group's files section, so whoever coded your car may have missed that step.

To change the gas tank from 1.9 gallon to 2.4 gallon, there are three settings to change. In BKOMBI section 3005: change TNK_LITER_RECHTS from mcv_rex_liter_kl_rechts_us to mcv_rex_liter_kl_rechts change TNK_OHM_RECHTS from mcv_rex_ohm_kl_rechts_us to mcv_rex_ohm_kl_rechts change...

According to a BMW coding glossary I found on another site, it stands for "Fahrzeug-Auftrag (German for Vehicle Order)". It goes on to say that "FA is like a single string that tells the car everthing that it came with from the factory. More advanced users can change this but not really needed."...

It is possible to code the car even after the March 2015 update, you just need some extra CAFD and FAFP data files. The March 2015 update adds the possibility to display the state of charge on the kombi screen. I'm not BMW so I don't know what else they might have included.

To play videos all you need is to change the following settings in HU_NBT (if you have professional navigation) or HU_ENTRYNAV (if you have business navigation): 3000 ENT_CODEC_VCD: nicht_aktiv -> aktiv ENT_CODEC_XVID: nicht_aktiv -> aktiv ENT_MC_VIDEO_SUPPORT: nicht_aktiv -> aktiv...

If you've used one gallon, then you can only put one gallon in. The additional .5 gallon you're unlocking is gas that's already in the tank, just previously couldn't be used. In addition to setting TNK_LITER_RECHTS and TNK_OHM_RECHTS as shown in your image, you should set TNK_VOLL_ANZEIGE to...

A new "Hold state of charge" checkbox will appear in the iDrive's Range Extender menu. You can also assign that to any of the 8 preset buttons, like you would any other iDrive menu option.
