As a previous poster suggested try to find a BMW dealer who offers the extended test drive on the i3. Then you can try the car on your actual commute.
Alternatively you can do what we did before committing to 2017 REX and find one to rent. We found a local one on Turo that had been coded to...
Don't assume the dealer is paying the invoice price for the car. The manufacturer has all sorts of incentives they offer the dealers that are mostly invisible to customers. These can radically impact the price of the car.
Example- BMW says to dealers that they will pay them $10,000 if they sell...
You should aim for invoice before applying any incentives from the manufacturer. So if you are leasing you want the $7,500 off after you've got to invoice. Same with any fleet discounts you qualify for.
I just installed a Chargepoint hard wired unit. In my case it was outside about 18 feet from my main panel. I under the charger myself. The electrician installed 18 feet of conduit, ran the wiring, put a new 40A breaker in my box and wired everything together. That work cost me $395 here in...
If you have the time order one. That is what we did though ours is a REX. Couldn't find any cars configured the way we wanted. BMW typically will work with you if you have a car on order but it is not ready at your lease turn in date.
Also if you are considering this move before April 1 when...
I'm seeing reports that some dealers are expecting parts this week or next to allow them to clear in stock cars for sale. Car sales may be up in running before April.
Last I saw BMW wasn't mailing notices to owners until early April which says to me you shouldn't expect any parts to fix this in country until then. When the parts do arrive I'd expect dealers to prioritize the cars on the lots so they aren't stuck with them.
Notices will not be sent to owners until April when BMW expects to have the parts available. The biggest impact this has right now is that there is a stop sale notice on all i3 REX cars built from start production through December 2016. No BMW dealer can sell those cars until they are fixed...
If I'm understanding you are asking how to remove the interior rear door panels? If so watch this video starting at about 32:20 mark:

Also I should add that I'm in Southern California which is one of the greatest markets for car buying so my experiences might not apply to you if you are in an area with only one or two BMW dealers within easy reach.
Hard to tell- how loaded is the 2015? What was original MSRP on that car?
The 2014 cars going for under $20K seem to be mostly Mega line BEVs with no options. A loaded REX 2014 is still going to mostly be in the low to mid $20K range as far as asking price.
To me to figure depreciation you...
Ah, perfect. Thanks!
If we end up buying one it will be to keep for a long time. I care about sound quality and getting the HK system is well worth it for me.
Just curious as I'm considering a used i3 down the road. Is there a way to tell from interior photos whether a car has the HK package? I can run the VIN of course but it would be much easier to have a visual cue to look for.
