I've never had an "s", but I went from i3 with 20" wheels to the one with 19". The ride quality on the 19" is better, and they are not prone to punctures. My 20" was REX, and I had to patch the tires more often than I filled it with gas.

Art, thanks. Good to know it is a Hall effect sensor, not a mechanical switch. I remembered that I coded the set belt reminders not so long ago. I coded it back, will see, maybe it caused the code to pop up.

Anyone else had the 9309C4 code? It comes up regardless of the seat belt use. I unplugged and reseated the yellow connector under the seat to no avail. Does anyone have the schematics?

I own a Chrysler Pacifica PHEV and I hate that they took the KISS principle to the max- no choice to switch between EV and gas, one pedal driving, or the ability to turn off the resistive cabin heat.

Thanks, I coded several things in the past, but the remote start never worked. I'll try to find more info on how to do it with E-Sys- I don't want to use the app because I don't know how it works. My car is coded for "autopilot", and I don't want to redo it if the app will break that.

Is replacing the brake fluid every two years really necessary? Very few people replace it that frequently in other cars. It is not in danger of boiling, but not so sure about the potential corrosion. Can the car be coded to remote start from the fob? My internet searches led me to believe it...

These production numbers are unevenly distributed- I remember reading that i3 was the best selling car in Norway at some point. Around here it is rare- I can go for weeks without seeing another one. It doesn't need to have a worldwide following. We can also argue about the definition of a cult...

How i3 can not be a cult car? It has all the ingredients- low production numbers, instantly recognizable and controversial design, no comparable competition, short production cycle with no similar models before or after.

i3 is a "series hybrid" where the engine never drives the wheels directly, it is used only as a generator. This architecture introduces additional drivetrain losses.

I replaced a 60AH REX with a 90AH BEV and never looked back. i3 isn't a good hybrid. The engine is annoyingly loud and buzzy, the fuel economy isn't great. If you look around this forum, you'll see that engine is one of the most problem prone components.

Thanks for sharing. Did you notice any practical change in the range after the update? How do you collect the data? With so many points it has to be automated. I graphed the data through BMW Connected and smart home software for a while, but BMW stopped reporting Batt. Kappa Max through the API.

BEV! BMW range ratings are rather conservative. Although you might run into a problem if the weather is very cold and your speed is high.
