    Life after warranty

Is replacing the brake fluid every two years really necessary? Very few people replace it that frequently in other cars. It is not in danger of boiling, but not so sure about the potential corrosion. Can the car be coded to remote start from the fob? My internet searches led me to believe it...

    Anyone factory ordered recently?

I ordered a 21 i3 back in June, when the end of the production was announced. The car was scheduled to be built in the end of July, but it is now postponed with no certain date. How did your order go?

    End of production

I haven't heard anything official, but there are speculations that i3 will be replaced by iX1 for 2022. There is nothing else like i3 on the market and nothing similar is planned. My wife is still in love with this car and I'm also very fond of it. Seriously thinking about replacing our 2018...

    Rear dash cam

I'd like to install a rear facing dashcam in the lift back door. Looking at the schematics I couldn't find a 12V wire in there. I want to check if I missed something and there is a 12V feed there after all.

    Went from leasing to owning

Returned my 15REX and purchased a 18BEV. Less than 200 out of our 25k miles on the 15 were on REX- I only filled it twice in 2.5 years, so the choice of BEV was easy. I averaged about 2 nails in the left rear tire per tank of gas  I managed to jump in the last car of the departing $10k...

    Current lease deals?

When I leased my i3 two years ago, the deals discussion was lively and helped me quite a lot. I will have to return mine in a month or two- the mileage will run out before the time- and I'd love to lease another one. Are the any opportunities?

    Seat Belt buckle Retainer

The seat bet buckles in i3 are hanging way to close to the floor. Has anyone tried installing aftermarket retainers? The belts in my other cars have these retainers from the factory.

    Heads are turning

In my 2 weeks of the ownership I don't think I've had a day without someone approaching with questions or compliments about the car. Didn't expect it- after all the car has been on the market for over two years. My BMW R1200GS, which is not very common bike in the US doesn't raise nearly as much...

    No more 24 months lease?

I just spoke to a dealer regarding a lease for a 2015. He told me that the 24 month term has been effectively eliminated because the residual for 24 and 30 months is now the same and it is 59%. MD EV tax credit is good for any lease term, so this is a bad news.

    Charging at work

I have access to a 120V outlet at work. How many miles of range should I be able to add after an 8 hour charge?

    Wholesale prices

I checked the wholesale i3 prices on dealers auctions. Turned out, there have been only 20 or so sales in the past several months- not enough to come to any conclusion. Many auctions don't even mention the trim level. Prices for 2014 i3 ranged from $22900 to $39500.

    Body repair

I'm slowly researching i3 for a purchase and following listings on ebay. I saw one example with a salvage title (written off as unrepairable) and was surprised how little damage it had.The listing has been removed from ebay, but I saved it...

    Buying a dealer demo

Hello everyone, I'm toying with idea of getting an i3, although it is not that practical with my situation and current gas prices. I talked to a dealer about a demo car and was told that since the car had been titled to the dealer, it was not eligible for the federal tax credit. But in the case...
