Beware of Dealer Scams (at least in Toronto)

Toronto dealers really turned me off of buying an i3. Started off great. Was given a car for the night. Really enjoyed it. But then when I returned the car, they started playing games with me. Had me wait around while he finished up, until I had to leave. Refused to negotiate over the...

    Took the plunge

Congrats again, Seems like you got a great deal. at $54k that seems like 5k less than MSRP for a 2016 similarly speced car that wouldn't have a sunroof. They seem awfully confused there though. I spoke to them a couple of weeks ago, curious about their two CPO 2014 i3's and they were trying to...

Why Tesla is going to dominate for the next 5yrs

Jim, Given your position I don't understand why you would have got an i3 in the first place? A (boring) prius, mini, or a fiat (much more fun) would have saved you quite some dough without the hassle of charging batteries. I don't see how charging a denser battery becomes more expensive...

Why Tesla is going to dominate for the next 5yrs

So true, but the fact is most people should be smart enough to realize that they probably won't come in on time. It doesn't really matter anyways. Even if they fail to release 1 year later it won't hurt the Tesla brand. The fans (short for fanatics) believe that Tesla & Musk are trying to do...

Do NOT Buy BMW i3 [From an Owner]

What turned me off of my BWM dealer was when the guy tried to treat me like I was buying a GM. He lent me a car overnight (great start) then begged me to wait 10-15 minutes whilke he finished up with a customer when I returned and had to get going to shuttle the kids around. I waited almost 25...

Why Tesla is going to dominate for the next 5yrs

It will definitely be more than $35! Personally, I don't know if/when they will ever build any that cheap. Musk himself has said that he expects most people to option it out at around $42k, which may very well be what it costs to add dual motors and the autopilot based on early numbers. With...

Why Tesla is going to dominate for the next 5yrs

I can't imagine a 50% drop in reservations. I suspect that no matter how long any of us wait for a Model 3, it will far exceed anything else on the market. However, I still say that it's silly and unfair to compare it to current cars or soon to be released models like this summer's refreshed...

Why Tesla is going to dominate for the next 5yrs

You guys are missing the point. For most people it's not about the most efficient car. If that was the case the i3 would be sprouting like prius's all over the place. What Tesla has done is build a great car first and foremost. It has unprecedented range and a great supercharging network to...
