Knowing what you know now. Would you do it all over again?

Yes, I would buy my BEV again. This is my seventh week with the car and have put almost 800 miles on it. Sometimes the rear left door sensor doesn't register, I think it did it 4 times, no big deal, just re-close. The car is awesome and gets a lot of attention and I never have to go to the gas...

How do you charge your i3

Similar to Stumble I don't find myself charging at home that much. In 50 days of ownership I've charged at home exactly 4 times with the supplied cord. It helps if you have DC and a fast charger close. On the way home I stopped by with 18mi on the GOM, 14 minutes later I left with 60mi...

Why an i3 not a Tesla

Size and the interior. The I3 is just about right, S was enormous in comparison. And around town nothing beats it. U turn in the street, no problem! I found the tesla interior to be cold and missing some things coming from mercedes. For that money I want all the bells and whistles. My i3...

I managed to get a discount on the BMW i3...

The deal I got at $6k off included the $2k innovation credit. I leased for 24 and got the $4,875 from the govt for almost $11k off sticker. I could have gone 36 mo, but the tech is evolving very quickly. Love the car so far, 325 miles.

Seeking some input on a lease quote in Santa Rosa, CA

Depends on options. Base car, not so great. With totally zero drive off they are paying first, bank fee (750), tags, tax on the 4875 fed rebate and about 80 in fees for you. My all option BEV with. MSRP of $50,600 is $325 a month plus tax. My drive off was $3500, $1600 went to cap reduction...

    $299 a month....

I didn't quite manage to get to my target of $299 a month because I picked up a fully loaded car (vs. just giga and heated seats) on Sunday. She is Capparis white with 20s, Giga, Tech, Parking, HK system, DCFC and heated seats. Sticker $50,600. Payment $325 plus tax with $1600 cap reduction...

I managed to get a discount on the BMW i3...

I've been watching the i3 since the concept car stage. Reading everything available. Was so disappointed when the first lease deals came out. Saw the first one come off the truck in the Bay Area and test drove 3 separate times. Went and drove the MB, nice, but not concept car like the BMW. What...

    Leasing the i3

Not a bad deal, but not that good either.... Based on your values the dealer is taking just $2,000 off the MSRP and passing along the $1,000 incentive on the REX. If you went with the BEV the incentive is $2,000. Double check that they aren't marking up he MF (money factor) on your lease...

Now Stevens Creek has 46 cars and the are advertising zero drive off and $369 per mo.

Seeking some input on a lease quote in Santa Rosa, CA

See my post on the $299 lease for how to calculate. If you're looking at a REX I'd shoot for $3500-$4500 off MSRP. This includes the $1,000 incentive. Last I checked Stevens Creek had 28 i3s....

    $299 a month....

Naps, correct. This is a traditional lease with the top tier (best credit) money factor of .00125.

    $299 a month....

Cap reduction is an amount paid up front to reduce the monthly lease payment. Interest rate is 2400 times the money factor (MF).

    $299 a month....

We're finally there. With the $2,000 rebate and a $3,000 discount from MSRP (two Bay Area dealers) for 36 months and with a $3,500 cap reduction the i3 with a sticker of $44k can be leased for under $300 a month with just a $1,000 cap reduction. There are LOTS of cars on the lots here in the...

    Owners Choice and Residual Questions

Residual is always calculated from MSRP. Yes, BMW increased the residuals 7% for both programs. 10k miles should be 3% higher than 15k miles per year. Try to get a good discount on the car. There are over 1500 cars on dealer lots right now. I'd start at $3k off MSRP - that should cut $85 off...

I managed to get a discount on the BMW i3...

Murph, did you buy from Stevens Creek? To the OP. Dealers lie, plain and simple. They want to make the sale and will do what's necessary to get it. BMW flooded the market with base cars - there are many on dealer lots. Maybe they did this because of the leather shortage or they are going...
