    The spam here is insane!

The CAPTCHA must no longer be working right, either that or the registration system got compromised. There is just way too much spam on this forum. I ignored it at first, but they generated about 4-5 pages of garbage threads, burying the important ones. Someone needs to address the issue. BTW...

The pains of finding wiper blades for the i3.

The i3 uses a beam style wiper blade, with the OE part being manufactured by Bosch in Belgium. It appears to be based off a European market wiper blade, the AP750U. This would be a 29.5 inch blade here in the U.S.A. Many auto parts stores stock Bosch ICON wipers, which are very high quality, and...

Running the REx over 75% SOC.

The Range Extender is an interesting piece of technology. One of the design trade offs is that it can not be enabled over 75% SOC, presumably as a way of preventing overcharging of the batteries, much like how DC fast charge tapers off as you reach the upper part of the battery capacity...

How long have you delayed filling up your REx's gas tank.

When using the "Hold state of charge" function, it's so tempting to run the tank "dry" (the computer leaves about 0.2L of fuel in there to keep the fuel pump covered), because you have power in the battery to continue driving. At the completion of a 100mi trip on Tuesday, I haven't stopped by...

    Ugh. More misfires. (Drivetrain error)

At first I thought the misfiring when starting the REx was a random event, but I've now decided that it seems to only happen on a cold start, and only when the ambient temperature is cold. Once the engine is warmed up, it can be stopped, and restarted without issue. Usually when this happens...

    Winter traction in an i3

Last week I put the Blizzaks on.I got to have a little experience with snow, but nothing too major. Today, however I drove 100 miles through snow and ice. I used the "TRACTION" mode (Limited DSC mode) the whole time. My thoughts: 1. Watch the under steer. With the i3 it's really easy to turn...

    Enabling iDrive Office.

Ok, so I coded in iDrive Office using the i3 Bimmercode cheat sheet as reference, though I did use E-SYS to do so. However, despite the Office menu showing up in the main menu, I do not receive any messages through the system. I've tried re-pairing my iPhone 6s, but hasn't made any difference...
