My bmw app not showing anything but location…help!

This is not a BMW problem...this is an ACROSS THE BOARD subscription model problem. EVERY single company you can imagine is doing this nonsense. You think this is bad? Wait until you have to work with software that requires yearly subscription and maintenance fees. Tesla also does it. If...

Someone else searching for an 2021 i3 S fully loaded with the all the options that were offered BMW as a part of “ their last year’ program.

I may have considered selling you mine but then I'd be left without a car lol.

My intro message. BMW i3S is brilliant, but needs big range Solid State battery

There EV market is actually too new for replacement battery solutions yet. Mostly because current batteries don't fail much and last a lot longer than anticipated. The market for such solutions will come and be more mainstream in the future but for now, more innovative and smaller companies...

My intro message. BMW i3S is brilliant, but needs big range Solid State battery

People spend loads of money updating or repairing cars that are worth repairing or updating. The i3s is...in my opinion...one of those cars. I, for one, would love to keep my i3s and update it if that opportunity arises. It's still cheaper than buying a new EV outright and would make this car a...

2019 I3s - code P1179 and burning electrical smell after using Rex

Possible loose wire or cable that's always in contact with a hot REx? That cause the smell and also trigger the code? Just thinking of loud. What does that code indicate anyway?

Do you have a Wallbox charger at home, or why not?

I doubt charging to 100% in this car makes any noticeable impact on battery longevity. This battery is different than Tesla packs (at least the non-iron based ones where in the new iron based packs you actually are recommended to charge to 100% once a week or so).

In praise of the BMW i3s

Money comes money goes. We don't take it with us hence spend it on things you care about and on things that make a difference to others in ways it can help...whether it be people, yourself, a cause like animal welfare, etc. I never understood the obsession rich people have of hoarding money in...

9 Wonderful Years of i3 Ownership!

That grey colour on an i3s would have looked amazing. With the black rims it would look incredible honestly. Love that color.

    C&D - What to Buy: 2013–2021 BMW i3

One of the worst marketed cars on Earth. Well done BMW for killing it.

    Metallic chafing noise from front

Sounds like the cooling system...it ramps up as you drive faster so as to cool/heat the battery pack. Once optimal temperature is reached, it throttles back to a low steady state level. That's my guess anyway.

Rattling glove box lid! (Any ideas on how to tighten?)

Try putting 1/4" foam strips (one side has adhesive) under the lip of the glovebox. It preloads the latch when engaged. The glovebox on this car is infamous for rattling...as is the passenger side air vent. I've gone as far as lining the inside of the lid with foam and tape but it's just poor...

Want to buy an i3 as an around-town EV

Actually the maps are updated 4 times a year OTA now.

Want to buy an i3 as an around-town EV

You can change the brake fluid at the dealer for around $180-200. Every two years isn't necessary...so stretch that out to three or four and it's well worth the price and coverage the dealer offers if anything happens to go wrong.

A BMW Executive Seemingly Wants To Distance The Brand From The Iconic i3, And That’s Foolish

I would venture to say that $11k discount was something they had to do when they realized they've not spent a dime marketing the i3 in a way shape or form while the competition has been. BMW put less than zero effort in marketing or advertising this car. No one will buy a car when they don't...

A BMW Executive Seemingly Wants To Distance The Brand From The Iconic i3, And That’s Foolish

To be honest, I think this is more of a myth than reality. There is no way BMW would continue producing a car that loses money every year (especially as much as they claimed). This car already had the tooling and material in place to continue past 2021 and they didn't need to do much to...

Want to buy an i3 as an around-town EV

To be honest, reading your comments makes me believe you are not really going to like the i3 or will be happy with one. Just being honest and upfront. I could be wrong. The i3 is the only EV out there (in my opinion) that's less about tech and more about driving experience. It's unique...

A BMW Executive Seemingly Wants To Distance The Brand From The Iconic i3, And That’s Foolish

It wouldn't have been hard at all to modernize and refresh the i3 to what people may like today. But then again, the general population's taste sucks bigtime. I mean, look at some of the incredibly ugly cars coming out today from Nissan, Infiniti, Toyota, BMW, etc. Hideous beyond belief. As...

Is $120 for ConnectedDrive worth it, for a 2018 Rex?

I have always had ConnectedDrive and to me it's worth it. I can't stand Waze...I think it's awful. I use my ConnectedDrive a lot. Sending requests, locking/unlocking/pre-conditioning/maps, etc.
