    Check Engine Light

Picked up mine yesterday. I can't attest to any improvements in range, performance, etc., but it's clearly a complete wipe of the computer/electric system. So, it's probably starting with a fresh algorithm. I had to re-enable BMW Assist/Connected services (thanks to a helpful call to...

    Heavy duty floor mats

I did the same. The black mats from the Tera package are far more practical than the silly ivory mats. My dealer got me a set at no cost.

    Check Engine Light

Mine's in for the update as of this morning. The service writer called to tell me that the car was undergoing the software update, and that they would be keeping it overnight. When he read the key, their service system also required some additional maintenance, including an oil change. At ~900...

I sent them an email a few days back. i3 is not supported under the rebate program. *grumble*

    Check Engine Light

I too received a call from BMW iConcierge yesterday afternoon informing me of the software update. The update is supposed to take 3 to 4 hours. The car goes in next Wednesday. I've had the CEL for 80% of the days that I've driving the car in two weeks of ownership.

Do you have an i3 on order and awaiting delivery?

The variance in lead times from order to delivery is puzzling. I put in my order on March 23, and I took delivery on July 3. It would have been sooner, but the car was held at the port for 3 weeks. I was told the delay was a major navigation update...perhaps it was related to the missing nav...

    i3 CEL software update

Subscribing to this thread... My REx was delivered July 3. The CEL came on yesterday (July 7) after about 200 miles of electric-only driving.

Excellent writeup! I noticed that it got picked up by a few relevant blogs. I’m looking forward to part 2.

Is the rear view camera worthwhile?

I'm a huge fan of the trajectory and limit lines. We have the system on several of our vehicles, and it makes maneuvering in reverse a precision exercise. As soon as you begin turning you know exactly where your wheels will be and how tight of a turn you can make. The overlay blocks are nice...

    Buying experience in the U.S.

I've been using a broker for all of my car purchases for several years. Why mess around all day at a dealer, who often knows less about what they're selling than you do, when you can make one call, get a great price, and have the car delivered to your home? While convenience is the big win, a...

    Adaptive LED headlights

That does sound like a good description. The single projector assembly on the i3 (even with an array of dynamic LEDs) likely does not have the same beam splitting abilities of the dual projectors on the standard line of BMW models with Active LED.

    Adaptive LED headlights

I've had several models where the beam will sweep left or right slightly in order to better illuminate the road in a curve, and the auto high-beam on my current X5 is quite nice, dipping the the lights when traffic is sensed by the camera. These new Adaptive LED lights take both of these...

California HOV Stickers for REx, Maybe?

Thanks for the note. I'm interested to keep an eye on this.
