If only the USA had a decent CCS network...it's supposedly coming, but way too slow for me! Well, maybe not, since I only use the i3 for running around local, but it would help on occasion. My ICE still needs to get driven once in awhile to keep things lubed and the battery happy.

I tried to drive 500 kms in a 100% ev - from Rotterdam to Paris for the UN Climate Summit. Beautiful unexpected things happens...

I've taken my i3 REx from Rugby, UK to Amsterdam and Aachen on a couple of occasions. I know that the entire trip can be done 100% electric, but usually choose to use the REx for convenience and to bridge CCS gaps. I charge about 4-5 times on these 450 mi journeys.

Driving an EV through different countries and using different networks feels a little like roaming with a mobile phone in the early 90s, I guess.

However, thorough preparation for such a trip is key. I usually phone and email the different networks a few days before the trip to ensure my cards are still activated and CCS chargers are working as expected. I also check Plugshare for recent experiences and use the EU CCS map you have mentioned.

There is a thread on this forum with regards to getting a KiWhi pass.
