Just saw this. Gotcha and thanks.

    Just bought a 2014 i3 from carvana!

As a side note, I hope you don’t have a problem getting your permanent plates and registration from Carvana.

    Charging to 80% capacity

I leased a 2021 last September and charge in the garage to 100%. I retired early so don’t drive a lot but love knowing I always have a “full tank”. I haven’t seen any degradation. I live in south Jersey and had a 199 mile range when I went out to the car earlier this week!

Can I Check Battery Status Remotely Over Several Days?

Out of town for a couple weeks. Told the wife we could take Zippy to the airport since I’d read they only lose 1% per day. So far I unlock and lock the car to get an update on the battery but it still says 87% 150 miles. Is the car battery really not updating or since the car is only 6 months...

Anyone Use Apple Maps for Routing?

Had some time and saw my old thread. After using the ‘21 for 6 weeks or so I agree. The Nav…at least the “professional” version is very good and I haven’t used anything else for quite a while. I’ve noticed like on so many car Nav’s this one doesn’t force you back to the route when it’s clear the...

Tesla Allowing CCS Charging at Superchargers!

Elon Musk has said it will happen by the end of 2021. I’ve read the verbiage from the infrastructure bill and in order to get some of the cash, chargers have to be usable by all EV’s. It’s almost as if the wording is aimed directly at Tesla’s Superchargers. I’ve read there will probably be CCS...

Tesla Allowing CCS Charging at Superchargers!

I did a quick search and didn’t see any comments about Musk announcing all US Superchargers will be available to non-Tesla vehicles by the end of this year. Is that because y’all think it’s BS and not worth starting a thread or what?

Anyone Use Apple Maps for Routing?

Apparently will work great on BMW’s…just not our i3’s ;)

I am just about to buy a i3s and usually drive 120-135 miles a day. Does the car have enough range for this

As someone who’s had a new i3 BEV for just under a month, the only thing to be careful of are “side trips”. Not an issue for me but the wife is always thinking and will remember we need to stop here, then there, then backtrack a little.

Common for DC Charger to Reduce kWh BEFORE 80%?

Ah… that makes sense Nate. It was on Sunday and the chargers were rockin’ when we got there. Did not realize those chargers get hot. There are only a couple 50kWh…most are 350 and like I said, from comments here and YouTube I didn’t want to tie up a 350 when our i3 can only take 50kWh. I did...

Common for DC Charger to Reduce kWh BEFORE 80%?

Was public charging but percentage wasn’t going up very fast. I got out of the car and noticed the 150kWh Electrify America charger had dropped to the low 20’s kWh from starting mid 30’s and I was only around 20% charged. A few minutes later it dropped to 7kWh. I shut it down and restarted…same...

My Virgin Charge Was a Nightmare!!!

Okay… I truly meant “THAT’S level 3” in a funny NOT electrical engineer way. I am well aware the station could provide 1,000 kW but the car could only take 50kW I believe. I was just wowed by how fast it charged, the huge wire cable you plug in versus my nightmare experience at HD and BMW on...

My Virgin Charge Was a Nightmare!!!

So…I went to an Electrify America charger before the charge got to low and OMG that was fast. Think I was high 30% charged and in 20 minutes or so I got just over 80%. By the time I went in the convenience store and got a sandwich there was only 6 minutes left to 80%…WOW. Maybe it’s just EA...
