Buying a used non CPO BMW I3 REX

I just got rid of a nightmare 2014 that spent over 40 days in the shop in the past 18 months. A quote from my Service Rep at BMW, "I wouldn't have a 2014 without a warranty, the new ones are great, but these are all problems."

New wheel & tire nearly $900 to replace?!

Steve, America's Tire matches online prices and a new TPMS sensor is about $15 if you need one, which I doubt you do.

    Default EcoPro mode

If you're not tech savvy, don't even try it... It can be done over the internet, with a third party accessing your car. I would search online and through other BMW forums for those offering services.

    Default EcoPro mode

Yes, there is a way to code the car to start in EcoPro mode as default. I have my car coded currently to do so. Here's the information you will need to make the coding change: BDC_BODY / CAFD EDIT FDL / 3221 PfFesMaster FesInitMode Ausgelesen Werte=?? 03 = Comfort 07 = Eco Pro 08 = Eco Pro +...

    iRemote not updating

These items are available in the main screen on the Connected app, at least in the iOS version.

Before you buy or lease an i3 Be Aware of the Tire Problem

BMW didn't design the tires, Bridgestone did to match BMW's car. I think we all agree that they should be able to produce the same tire with at least a 50,000 mile warranty, especially considering that Pirelli and Michelin are able to produce 90,000 mile tires for passenger cars. I think one...

Before you buy or lease an i3 Be Aware of the Tire Problem

Who the hell buys tires from the dealership? I have a sandbox in Arizona I would like to sell you. Half the price at Costco, installed with a road hazard warranty, btw. Also, I am on my original front tires at 41,500 miles and just ordered replacements at Costco.

    Body Parts Replacement

eBay has right rear panels for less than $150 bucks right now in a number of colors. The good thing about our cars is that you can screw in new panels if you mess one up, like unfortunately has happened to your car. Cheers, Nick...

    Question on base sound system

Every single time I drive my car I wish I had the HK Sound System option.

    iRemote not updating

While I don't have experience with the Apple Watch companion app, I don't understand all of the negative comments on the Connected app in this forum as a whole versus the iRemote app? The Connected app can absolutely do anything that the iRemote app can do, and much more, I rarely use the...

    Base sound speakers upgrade

Just don't go with the BAVSOUND option, man that was a terrible waste of time...! Your best bet would be to replace the amplifier with a 4 channel amp, get coaxial replacements in the doors and components in the footwell with a custom tweeter installation where the stock HK front tweeter would...

Wear surface along top of bumper

I agree, but we are left to deal with BMW's mess-up and this is the best option available. It does slightly go over the corner edge of the bumper as well so it should cover almost any scratch and it uses the 3M "permanent" adhesive so it will prevent additional damage. I would be happy to post...

Wear surface along top of bumper

I did communicate with them via email for my order and shipment. I believe it was in the ballpark of $125 for the protector and shipping, well worth the 100% top bumper protection that it provides, in my opinion. I personally used it for my Doberman's jumps in and out of the hatch area until...

Wear surface along top of bumper

For this exact reason I bought and use one of these: http://www.rearguards.co.uk I would highly recommend this, it looks like something BMW would have, and should have, included with the vehicle. Performs and fits perfectly. I would buy this again, and will buy it for any vehicle that doesn't...

Glove box door not aligned - how to fix?

Umm... better? Let's just say, it's different than it was. It does rattle less, after various trips over multiple months and complaints.

Glove box door not aligned - how to fix?

It is misaligned so that it rattles and annoys the driver and passengers so much that they complain about it and schedule appointments to bring it in for service to give the guys at the dealership something to do. At least, that's been my experience with the glove box lid, wood, hinge and clasp.

    Turned down siren volume?

Apparently everyone's wife hates them, because nobody uses their turn signals in California, especially BMW drivers.

How to Improve Sound in Standard sound i3

It will work, but yes, wiring them in series (which is what a shop would do) would decrease the sound level. Otherwise, the option to add speakers in the rear would involve swapping the amplifier and I don't think the OP really wants to get into that... Wiring additional speakers in series...

How to Improve Sound in Standard sound i3

Umm... Just have your daughter sit in the front seat? Also, you could buy the panels for the rear doors from an HK model (just the speaker frames/grills), splice the wires running from the amplifier and add speakers in the rear doors. Yes, the sound wouldn't be louder because you spliced the...
