Does the rex required regular or premium fuel?

I'm probably the only cheapskate here who buys and puts in 87 (at still around $3/gal where I live, while the rest of the US is around $1 ~ $1.50/gal). Haven't had any issues, nor do I care since the car is leased and under full warranty should something happen.

    Charging time question

That's what happened to me, and my i3 REx is currently at the dealership right now. Just waiting to hear from them (tomorrow) whether the part is in stock locally within So Cal, or if they have to order it from Germany as that will take 2-3 weeks.

Help: CA HOV Decals - do I need the license plate first?

You need to see if a new bill will be passed to raise that limit (again). As of right now, I have not seen a new bill on the table for this. They hit their limit on Dec 18, and my check cleared on Dec 15, so I barely made the cut. I mailed in my decal app on 11/30, and the DMV received it on...

    i3 top speed

Yeah, that sounds about right. I was going 42 mph the other day and the radar on the speed limit sign said 38 mph. It wasn't the first time I noticed a lower speed recorded, but not by that much (usually just 2-3 mph).

    i3 top speed

I've always read that it was 94 mph, or around there. Well I hit it a few times this morning driving into work. It's like basically hitting a wall and not being able to go any faster, even though the car feels very stable and could keep going. Ironically, the "flow of traffic" speed today was...

Pictures of my new i3 and my first mod

Looks cool. My only piece of advice would be to maybe wrap the hood in a gloss white vinyl to color-match the rest of the car. I'm currently doing that with my Arravani Gray i3, and it's leased too. Just harder to find the right shade for my car, but easy for white.

Intermittent rear right door open indicator

Like others said, close the door with some authority. But also make sure the belt is straight and not twisted. I've had a few instances where I slammed the back door shut but it still showed open. I then turned the belt and re-adjusted it (pulled it out and let it retract back in) and then...

    Some coding questions

I just found out from a couple of people that no coding can be done on my car since I have the Nav Business setup (7" screen), and only the Nav Pro (10" screen) models can accept the coding. Looks like I'm SOL.

    Some coding questions

I was looking into coding my car but wanted to clarify a few things. This would be for a 2015 i3 REx. I sent a message to codemycar earlier this week but hadn't heard back and just wanted to see if anyone might know the following: - What exactly is the Time Setting Option? I couldn't find...

    Top speed limiter removal?

My daily commute in LA (literally going with the flow of traffic in the HOV lane) is between 80-90 mph. The car feels very stable and sturdy with no jittery feeling what so ever. It's very easy to go well over 90, but I haven't really felt a limiter. I'm just more worried about the skinny...

DIY: Highbeam Headlamp Replacement / Upgrade

Is there a way to point the high beam housings or lenses downward? The LED bulbs look great, but the high beams (factory halogen or LED bulbs) are worthless on the i3. Therefore, I'd rather use the lights as fog or additional driving lights.

Wrapping the roof in white vinyl for heat rejection

Instead of concentrating on the roof, you're going to be better off using some type of heat blocking film over the glass (windows & windshield) as cars are like ovens and the sun will heat up the car more through the windows than the roof. Something like a 70% 3M Crystalline window film/tint...
