too much rapid charging damages Li-Ion batteries

Agreed. I think it always good to "question" things with the mindset of understanding why something is being done. In that regard, what you say is exactly how I feel: BMW did their research and they implemented the best that any manufacturer currently offers. I recall someone posting a picture...

too much rapid charging damages Li-Ion batteries

Like all new science, there are reports supporting both sides. Science also acknowledges that lab results (as is the case with the study linked here) are always the same as real world. Thus practical science sits better with me. To that end, Nissan released their internal study data on L3...

Just got this email from a Ecotricity:

    The motor's whine

I too like the sound of the motor :)

    Has regen been reduced

Note that when under regenerative braking, the pedal for mechanical/friction braking is pre-pressurized. There is virtually no brake pedal travel.

Will the type 2 Mennekes plug pass though a UK letter box?

I doubt any letterbox will fit a type 2 plug. The letterbox on my door is huge (the biggest I've ever had) and it doesn't fit by a long shot. The type 2 mennekes is pretty chunky. The above mentioned cat flap seems the only hole-in-a-door that will accommodate.

    Has regen been reduced

The pedal is a very precise thing in the i3, much more so than a traditional ICE car. I made a simple graphic to demonstrate: Placing the pedal at exactly the coast/'neutral' point is precise and it is possible to come out of acceleration without going into regenerative braking. I wouldn't...

    Has regen been reduced

Don't be. You can absolutely 1 pedal drive. I haven't touched my brake pedal in 3 weeks (74 mile daily commute, 50/50 highway/non-highway). Last time I used it was to not hit a deer that jumped across the road (deer and car just fine :) ) At the risk of offending people, I think people fail to...

    Leasing in the UK

    Agreed, that's around £390.

    Has regen been reduced

Anecdotally, I've thought the same though wasn't quite sure if it was just the brake/power indicator or actual engagement of the physical brakes.

    Leasing in the UK

+1 to what was said above. There is no haggling in the UK--the price is the price and the lease rate is the lease rate. You might be able to get a freebie like mats, keychain, or charging cable but anything regarding the car itself is fixed pricing.

    Has regen been reduced

I test drove an early production BEV and now have a REX. No discernible difference from me. It is so variable based on many dynamic variables anyway. Regarding hills, where I live, I regularly go down a 9% grade and the regen can bring the car to a complete stop if I want. That's pretty strong...

    Day 1

Obligatory first response: you bought a revolutionary new car without any research?! Doesn't seem wise. Now with that out of the way... 100% normal. Electric vehicles have regenerative braking. In short, when the motor is not producing power to accelerate, it creates resistance to generate...

Worked for me 3 weeks ago. Followed my usual procedure: lift/hold up the plug during the communication phase of plugging in.

    _grunt coming from clutch discs_

The symptoms you describe match the commonly raised problem of a small rock being caught between the brake rotor and the thin metal 'shield' over them. Most of the time the small rock falls out after a few miles or when reversing, though sometimes a larger rock or one that is 'perfectly' shaped...

    UK Finding/ using recharging points

This 'issue' has been mentioned/discussed many times on the Facebook i3 group and I've have mentioned it here before when I first experienced it. I thought it was well-known amongst all but new owners.
