I’m getting ready to do some upgrades and a few maintenance items on my BMW i3 and to make it easier, I decided to put it up on jack stands on all 4 corners. Here is how I did it:

Thanks for sharing a video on this topic.

Make shure to also check out alohart's excellent thread per getting an i3 on jack stands -- https://mybmwi3.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2471

Did you use lifting point adapters? It looks like you've got something in there, but it bears mentioning on the video so that somebody doesn't inadvertently damage their CFRP chassis.

This would be quite expensive if a person wanted 4 of them to get all 4 wheels off the ground, but I recently bought one of these:

Works very well! It is innovative, extremely well built using high quality materials, and works well on both my i3 and my wife's 5 series. You can get jack pad adapters to work with most any unibody vehicle. It's not cheap, but It's the first time I've been able to get 2 wheels off the ground at the same time on either of or our Bimmers.

Oh, wow, that's pretty ingenious. One or two would do the trick for most jobs.

Thanks for the reference!

By changing the order of lifting by the jack points as I describe, lifting by the front suspension arm can occur only on one side rather than on both sides as in video. I'm never as comfortable lifting by the front suspension, so I try to minimize doing so.

Also, using proper BMW jack point adapters would reduce the potential of damaging the plastic jack points. The (expensive) jack stands that I bought have proper support surfaces that fit inside the jack points and thus don't need any jack point adapters. However, the floor jack that I use does.
