We had a look and feel at/of the BMW all weather mats today here in the UK. For what its worth, they are rubber, though I guess if delving into the chemical make up, they may be something else, but they certainly feel like rubber. They have a smooth surface, the image in the BMW advertising of them gives the appearance, (I think) of being a bristle or weave), they are not, its a smooth surface. There is a lip around them, so water can't run off and straight onto the car's carpeting unless there is a lot of it. Good thickness. Worth the money. I think BMW's marketing of them could be better and the parts guy agreed with me, he was surprised. The dealer gave us a nice discount and we bought them.
