KLE/software update question

I am scheduled to get my KLE replaced this Friday. I was wondering if this upgrade and/or a software upgrade exists to clean up the pre-conditioning problem where the i3 cycles the EVSE on/off about 20 times? I have the Clipper Creek HCS-40 and apparently installed it on a key stud in my garage, because when the relay clicks you can feel it throughout the whole house. I did not notice this issue when it was cold, but now that it has warmed up a little, it seems to happen every morning. I've turned off the departure time for now.

I suspect its slightly better (as in less cycles but it will still cycle), but not "fixed" the mothership is aware of the problem, and I was told late this year for a proper solution.
