I've been researching the availability of public charge points in the UK and it looks like a nightmare of competing subscription based companies and incompatible infrastructure.

As far as I can tell, the most common systems offer the 3 hour charge with an EU standard connector - although the cable doesn't come with the i3 unless you subscribe to the charging package[1]. Rapid charging seems to come in a variety of incompatible flavours: the Nissan Leaf standard (DC), the Renault Zoe standard (AC) and the i3 standard (a different type of DC). And the Tesla standard!

As far as I can tell, there are no i3 rapid chargers in the UK at all. Have BMW issued any plan on this front?

Crazy! My research confirms my decision to go for the REx - much as I'd prefer a 100% electric car.

[1]Anyone know how much the cable will cost in isolation?
