What OS is the i3 running?

While waiting for a passenger today, I had a browse through some of the iDrive menus and found some interesting stuff:

Looks like the i3 is running a version of my favorite Operating System!

Can anyone verify?

I heard recently that it is highly likely that the Tesla is running Linux as well.

Yep,

It essentially runs a forked version of redhat/fedora on an x86 Intel Automotive Platform. Complete with RPM package management (your firmware updates are delivered as RPMs)

There are a lot of discrete embedded systems in the car as well, from companies like continental automotive.
Some of those run linux, some run vxworks.
