Wheel of fortune noise at low speed from gearbox area

Did you ever figure out what the problem was? I've got the same sort of noise on my '14 Rex w/115k mi. 'Wheel of Fortune noise' is a perfect way to describe it. It also sounds like a bad CV joint, but my boots look like they're in good shape & I haven't heard of anyone having problems with the...

Will i3s wheels fit an i3 as the offsets seem to be the major difference

Very cool! I am attempting the same i3s flare install on my 2014. I have one rear flare (PN 51-43-8-738-749 from onlinebmwshop.com - $110 shipped) in hand to experiment with before moving to the front. I thought I’d use 3M VHB #4991 tape. It’s very strong and should be more than enough...

    Broken mounts? what that whine?

Indeed that was the problem. I broke the motor mount bolts, AC line & damaged both halfshafts. It was fixed in a week & I received the new motor mount design.

    Broken mounts? what that whine?

So today i noticed a new Loud whining sound coming from the passenger side rear of the car. Odd, never noticed that. Yes it’s electric but I’ve put 10k on it and didn’t notice til now? Car is a CPO 14 Rex with 45k mi total Went to back up my driveway and heard a loud ‘click’ as I started to...

20" Alloys with 20mm Hubcentric Spacers

Looks nice. And you got those wheels from another i3 with 20's? In reference to your 'rides softer/higher' comments. I have 19's and if I keep these as-is, I'll at least put spacers on to widen the track so it doesn't feel so tippy.

Autonomous driving / adaptive cruise control

How difficult is it to retrofit adaptive cruise to an i3 which didn't come with it originally? I have the Parking Assist, but drove a loaner with adaptive cruise and it's pretty slick.

How do you smog a REX in California?

I would expect it to be smog-exempt because it's engine displaces under 50 cubic inches. (650cc = 39.6cu in) I had a Fiat 850 which had a 819cc engine & when they were stil requiring smog tests for 74-older, I was exempt. However, models with 903cc engines were not. I'm trying to pull up...

How much more are these going to depreciate?

I bought used vs leased new because I drive more miles than any lease would allow for. I'm coming out of a 3 yr lease on a Fiat500e, where I tested the waters of EV'ing. If I didn't need more range I'd have probably ended up with a used 500e as those are dirt cheap, too. $7k for a 3yr old.

    Email Notifications?

Sorry if this is a FAQ but I've looked around & can't seem to find mention of it. Is there any way to receive email notifications when the car is finished charging, or for other status notifcations? My Fiat500e had this & I was spoiled by it, so I could let folks in the office know when my car...

Looking for smaller rims for my i3

Mercedes and VW/Audi also make wheels in this 5x112 bolt pattern. Whether you can find something with the backspacing you need is another story, but youre not limited to just BMW wheels. I would be interested in seeing the fattest tires one could fit inside the fenders, as well.
