    i3 insurance rates

Shop around! My local agent quoted me a price that was 3 times higher (not kidding!) than the policy I ended up getting from Geico. Some of the smaller insurers charge a huge premium for the i3.

    KHONS replacement EVSE review

So you're going to plug in your $54,000 car into a $200 Chinese charger? I sure wouldn't.

Extended Warranty for BMW I3 Rex

I've read (on this and other sites) that it's hard to find a dealer that will do work under that warranty unless it was specifically an emissions problem.

Can coding corrupt the i3's operating system?

It is a temporary setting. It will revert back as soon as you turn off your car, or tell the car to turn off HSOC.

    2014 I3 with15,000kms showing 19.3 kWh battery

I have a 2014 and my battery is in excellent condition. Ask the dealer to fully charge it. At room temperature my car has a range between 112 and 130 km. The colder it is, the lower the range. It's hard to measure. There's a Batt Kappa thing you can try too, but that's notoriously...

Extended Warranty for BMW I3 Rex

I feel your pain. After seeing all the awful reports of failures on Facebook I have sleepless nights wondering what's going to happen to my i3 when the warranty ends in two months. I guess I'll "cross that bridge" when I get to it.

Buying Used, Out of Warranty i3

I was talking about BMW's extended warranty, which is 3 years 50,0000 miles in the US.

Buying Used, Out of Warranty i3

I love my i3, sadly it goes out of warranty in a couple months. I've been freaking out reading about drive train errors, check engine light errors, and sheared engine mounting bolts, as well as worn/popping tires, an eggshell of a windshield, glass rear end that can spontaneously shatter, and...

Is this a good deal for a 2014 Rex?

It's a CPO, so yes, that is a good price. The only concern I'd have is that I think the CPO warranty on the i3 runs out after 50,000 miles, so you won't be under warranty for very long.

    BMW i3 auxiliary battery sizes

My battery will need to be replaced within the next 6 months if not sooner. Has anyone found a 40 ah that will fit?

Updated maps to 2018-1, no FSC code needed

I need to do this as my city recently rebuilt a major highway intersection. Where do you download the new maps? Are there instructions available for doing the update? Thanks in advance.

Info on maintenance and some advice needed

What is this website? I found nhtsa.gov, but that lists no recalls for my i3. Also, OP ought to ask for a printout of all the service records for the vehicle.

Info on maintenance and some advice needed

That's a good, important question. Yes, it was driveable. In fact, it was perfectly fine. I'm a little worried that the sensors are too sensitive. I imagine a little German fellow under the boot, wearing lederhosen, overreacting to everything. I'm planning to keep the car, and would like to...

Info on maintenance and some advice needed

2014 i3 REx here. I'd wait. My car has been in the shop twice in the past 3 months for CEL and drive train errors. I've also read that some of the 2017s are having problems. I'd wait.
