I just stumbled upon this thread again without realizing it was the one I started! In case you're still looking, I found my original order of winter wheels/tires for my 2018 i3s from my local BMW dealer. I've been using them since winter of 2018 and they're still working great. Below is the...
Got the car back from the dealer today. Turns out it was a leaf in the fan, however the way the service tech explained it is that the fan is more like a dyson fan in that it's cylindrical with the fan around the outside. I guess that's why a leaf doesn't get shredded and just stays in there...
Yeah the sound of the airflow almost drowns it out using a phone mic. Someone just sent me the below link which is the exact same sound. Given how similar it sounds, I'd guess that it's a bad fan bearing. I'll wait for the dealer (obviously), but now I feel better thinking it's not a leaf...
It honestly sounds like one of those little foam fans when you stick your finger in it. That's why I almost think it's a leaf or something stuck in the system somewhere.
The volume/severity is directly correlated to the speed of the fan, so if I turn it off, it goes away, but if I turn it up...
Good question, I basically looked everywhere I could see without taking any parts off. The front inlet looked clear, but I was incredibly surprised by how open it is. I replaced my cabin air filters about 6 months ago and they were pretty clean, so I'm not sure how debris stays out of there...
Ah I think you all are right, sorry about that. I must be thinking of the care plan or whatever that was only 3 years. I haven't been to a dealer since I bought it so I haven't really thought about it!
So before I start, my car is a 2018 i3s BEV with about 15k miles on it. Of course, I'm 2 months past the 3 year warranty, so there's that....now to get started.
I was driving around today on a normal 75ish degree day and had the AC on low (72ish) and I started to hear a weird sound that almost...
There's a lot of good fitment information in this thread (it's my thread, but others were very helpful). I ended up with the BMW winter wheels and tires due to the fact that they ended up cheaper than a lot of the aftermarket things you'd have to buy.
I'd also rather have wheels that don't...
I wanted to avoid spacers so I finally went with the BMW wheels/tires. They actually ended up being cheaper than all the aftermarket options, and they're also lighter weight. I think this is the best option if you want to get winter tires on your i3s. Just be prepared to wait, it took over 2...
Wow that's good to know about the offset. I wish BMW would tell us this, nothing in the description has any information about it.
Here is about 50% more expensive which stinks, Canada has it made!
Open the BMW app and click the icon on the top left for the menu. Once there click destinations. That'll open BMW's map service - what you're looking for is done there rather than in google maps or apple maps. I believe after you find your destination there's a button on the bottom to send it...
Update - Apparently BMW released a winter tire/wheel package for the i3S. Details are below, however it looks like they're the standard 19" 428 style wheels painted black and the Bridgestone Blizzak LM500 tires. They're basically $600 more due to the black color than the standard i3 winter...

I use Carly and used it for my 135i (they never made a M135ix in the US, curious where that's from?) and I couldn't find any modules on my I3S. How did you get it to program anything? I've been stuck on that for about a month with no ICM modules found at all.
