He was asking if it fit because it wasn't showing in the compatibility chart, hence my reply. No other inferences were made, including DOT approval. Some of us may objectively consider performance ahead of regulatory approval.
They fit. They're the same as the ones Godfollower referenced in his bimmerfest post (his listing had ended and these are the re-posted items).
With respect to distance throw, it's difficult to be exact (I didn't perform the Pepsi challenge, i.e., one in each side). Overall distance may be...
@elptex
Perhaps you're right. I certainly wasn't calibrated to the feeling. I'll give it a go on some secluded road and see if it feels the same.
Thanks.
Thanks for the replies.
I'll add that I concur on the stability of the car under panic braking. It was tracking straight and true for sure.
From personal experience, I've owned a few cars with bonafide 60-0mph stopping distances in the 100ft range and this did not feel like that. Perhaps it's...
Has anyone had the "opportunity" to experience the panic braking performance of their i3?
It happened today during rush hour on the interstate courtesy of a driver who cut me off and proceeded to come to a stop as they examined their lane options (There were a few choice words shared). Anyway...
Congrats on the new car!
I also have a BMW wallbox and it exhibits the same behaviour. I originally attributed it to a bug but later discovered the charging cycle did not start at the time the charging window opened, but rather some time later. I believe the algorithm calculates how much time...
Heard back from my service advisor today (BMW Mountain View, CA):
"I spoke with my shop foreman about your vehicle and we submitted a suggested repair solution to BMW which should rectify the issue with the rear panels. Yours is not the only vehicle that has been affected. It is just poor...
Picked up the car from the dealer and was told they had to call BMW to get the approved repair procedure for reattaching the panels. My guess is they're figuring it out on the fly.
Unfortunately, the fix was already coming apart by the time I went to pick up the car. My service advisor is now...
I'm sure this is old news, but the Mountain View DC fast charge is working fine now. I stopped there a couple of days ago, activated my card, and picked up about 50% charge in (what seemed like) a blink of an eye. Very cool.
Flashing blue means it's in the process of charging. Sorry if this is being pedantic, but here are all the color codes for the charging station LED:
Solid blue -- Ready for charging
Flashing blue -- Charging
Solid green -- Charging interrupted with Stop/Start button
Solid red -- Detected...
Telubit, what color is the LED on the charging station? It should be steady blue if it's ready for charging. If it's red, the station is locked and will not charge. There is a key inside the compartment above the plug dock for locking and unlocking the station.
The button only serves to...
Congrats on the purchase!
I have the BMW charging station too (free thanks to my dealer). The blue light will blink once or twice when first establishing the connection. You'll also hear the relay (contactor) trip back and forth. The light flashes continuously while charging. It stays...
