FOR SALE - WINTER TYRES ON ALLOYS

Selling my 428 'Turbine' style wheels with winter tyres. The tyres have been used for 3 seasons and 1 has a slow puncture as a result of a small screw in the tread. New the set is £1700, i am asking £600 for the set which is fair for just the wheels really! I am located near J6 of the M25 and...

    Uk ecotricity charging

I have just used one of these chargers, it all went smoothly via the app so thats good. However i was only charging for 26 minutes before the charger stopped, which seems a trifle mean. Had they not charged me £6 i would not have minded! I did get about 75 miles worth in the time (i now have a...

UK New 94Ah delivered at dealer, but they can't register it

The Tesla warranty you refer to is for the motor and the battery only. The vehicle warranty is 4 years.

    new batterires real world range

In the UK the cheapest Tesla is almost exactly double the price of the cheapest i3 with the larger battery including incentives. The case for the Tesla is slightly less clear cut here as a result. The Tesla is also a bit too large for the UK, in particular it is 8" wider.

UK New 94Ah delivered at dealer, but they can't register it

I too am told there is a delay with registering the new i3 for the electric vehicle grant, something one imagines would be high up the list at BMW given how many they are likely to sell without it! Awaiting an update although my car is not due to dealer until next week anyway.

Ordering this week - Question about Comfort Access

I have had my i3 nearly 2 years and am glad i chose comfort access. It means the doors will always open when you touch the handle and the boot(trunk?) is the same. You just touch the door handle to lock. It works well and becomes second nature, to the extent that i approach my other car (which...

    First Services in the UK

The service pack BMW offer (when i bought mine!) with the car when new is only £375 for 5 years (could be 4, cant recall) so very surprised to see first service might exceed this amount. This price appears to be the same regardless of BEV/Rex so seems quite good value.

Hybrid electric drivers drive more electric miles.

I also deliberated about the choice between Rex and BEV. Until recently i made a regular return journey of about 56 miles, well within the range of the car even in winter, however a few months ago the motorway slip road i use at the end of my journey was closed for unplanned maintenance. Had i...

    Annoyingly short central console....seriously??

Surely this 'issue' is evident on test drive? It is clearly a part of a clear design decision to have a spacious cabin with the possibility of getting out from either side (as others have noted) personally i find the advantages more than outweigh the (minor) inconvenience. So much so that when...

    Annoyingly short central console....seriously??

On the other hand the space between the front seats makes a lovely change from conventional cars bulbous transmission tunnels and gives a sense of a much more spacious interior, the i3 feels much larger inside than any other car close to its size that i have sat in. Cant please everyone i suppose.

    i Remote on Apple Watch

I would like to be able to tell the car to pre-condition in 1 hour/ 2hour/ 3 hour etc. This would save having to enter the exact departure time and date each time. This would be even more useful via the watch perhaps?

Thanks i7fan, i will try wiggling it and see if that improves matters!

Ecotricity medium charger Ikea croydon issue?

I tried using the Ecotricity AC medium charger in Ikea croydon yesterday and could not get the car to charge. The charger appeared to be working and accepted the Ecotricity card and tried to start charging but my i3 issued the warning: Mains power too low. Unable to charge. Insufficient power...

any UK Bev'ers completed a 300+ mile journey?

I would think carefully before undertaking such a trip in a BEV. As noted in the Ecotricity thread today i did a shorter journey (125miles) in my Rex yesterday and stopped at 4 Ecotricity DC chargers in a row. None worked. None worked on the way back either, although i only tried 3. I was able...
