ETON makes bmw replacement speakers, but has no mention of the i3 in their "Compatibility guide" - https://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/pdf/ETON-BMW-Compatibility-List.pdf
I am looking to replace the speakers in my "standard audio" 2014 BMW i3. I think ETON will be an improvement.
I see a...
The i3 doesn't have great rear visibility.
But most of the newer designs are even worse.
I just drove the VW id.4 and Tesla Y, and rear visibility in both is terrible.
i3 - Even if you love the glass below the part you can see through, wouldn't it be nice to see through another inch or two?
The i3s only comes with 20inch rims.
I wish there was an 18 or 19 inch wheel option.
Reasons:
Improved driving comfort
Less likely to destroy a rim or tire
Very likely improved performance
IMO the 20 inch rims are a victory of marketing over engineering.
On the back of the i3 is a lot of glass that you can't see out of.
The glass below the portion you can see our of doesn't seem to serve a purpose.
The glass below the portion you can see out of just adds extra weight to the i3 where you don't want it.
BMW could increase the size of the portion...
The i3 is not as smooth as you would expect underneath.
Most notable is the big space where the engine would be if my BEV were are REX.
If this space had was covered, I wonder how much more efficient the car would be at highway speeds.
I am not trying to put a wider tire on my i3.
I am looking for a wheel+tire combination that is the same bolt pattern, tire width, and tire outside diameter as the original setup.
It must weigh less, and have a lower moment of inertia about the axis of rotation than my current 19in setup...
