Hi there I have a 2014 i3 with REX. And I never have had a problem before today. No error message no nothing battery slowly went down to 3.5 % and Rex didn't kick in.
I was going down to the interstate and luckily by rest area. Pull off road and eat send the hatchback got back in hit power...

Thanks for your details. I had to take out about 9 lead acid batteries a 240 volt 8000 watt pure sine inverter and level 2 charger, So in about 10 minutes should of had around 450-525 watt hours filled into it. *maybe less though since read somewhere that at low % SOC cv is lower...

with yours though was it running on REX when you parked in your driveway and uncharged then went out nothing but charge error? Or your REX never ever kicked on?
And what was the problem through the techs process of elimination? How much was it to fix or was it too costly to fix...
I had to take my wife to the ER today had 3/4 battery when we needed to go full tank of gas about 10 miles b4 we got to ER the REX kicked on but driving aggressively to get her there ASAP battery was 2.5% it was hot here in Iowa 98 F or so and no shade in parking lot, we came out about 8 hours...

Yeah we have encountered the ground fault issues. We are stepping up the voltage up through dc/ac modified sine inverter then using another step up AC voltage transformer to around 440 VAC and then rectify that AC and after smoothing cap and such so we are isolated the lv 12vdc in my...

Also forgot to mention in my prior post , I was thinking of using refurbished Tesla pack, since I thought 1 module was 90 x 4.2 v cells in series giving me 369 VDC but that's not the case
That's why I thought it was easier to try Lithium to Lithium when I first posted. So when I found...

Hi sorry been a few weeks since I had a chance to be on here and look around. What I am doing is similar to your approach but made dc-dc boost converter making a homemade battery charger that uses say 8-10 kw hr old school FLA group 27 12v and exports 375-380 VDC to i3 battery pack by...
Hi I saw a HV Battery Cable for the 60 AH with REX on bottom side
has 1 and 2 the top says A and 03
with that does anyone know the polarity sucj does 1 and A = neg or pos or vise versus?
thanks
thanks, for your input. the 2014 model I have doesn't have a ccs just level 2. I was just going to splice the hv dc battery cable between battery and inverter power.
i just found tech manual said nominal voltage 360 VDC can be as low as 290 VDC and as high as 396 VDC. Said 98 batteries X 3.75 VDC nominal in series = 360 VDC
So then the 369 VDC of the refurbished Tesla Pack should at least charge to the output voltage of 360 VDC when put in parallel...
hi there
I am experimenting with building my own EV charger and range extender. I am hoping someone on here can help me. I am thinking of using a few 5kw hr refurbished Tesla battery packs = 90 x 4.1 volts charged lithium ion in series something like 369 volts full pack.
And what is the...
hi I think its your inverter that is sine wave sure, but has a built in safety ground fault in the circuit of the inverter so that if you become the circuit interrupt to ground it shorts out to provide safety so you don't get electrocuted or something like that. so the 110 would be live wire 1...
