May be we should start to use better terms
Like 100% indicated
and then talk about what means a 100% indicated compare to the real limits of the battery cells
For my experience , a 2014 i3, always topped and kept at 100% indicated, I have lost 12 % since new of autonomy on 138 thousands...
Need to be below 75% to be able to start the generator
You will see the small white arrow to go to the present level, and the generator will try to keep that level
You can't just put a brand-new battery in a fob like you would do with a AA battery. The new CR2032 batteries are now coated with some stuff that tastes horrible. This is to prevent children from swallowing them . It does a lot of damage to their stomachs. But this coating, on some brands...
We have to understand its limit to drive on the REX for 400 miles. The first limit is the power of the REX. The power of the REX is able to furnish enough energy on flat ground with no headwind at around 90 km/h. So if we are going up a long slope, or if we drive at 110 km/h, we will consume...
I would put some protection on the "charger" cable where it goes out of the box on the notch in the metal. Some duck tape, or a rubber grommet ( cut to be able to slide it on the cable)
Or fixing the outside part of the cable to the wall with a shock cord
One day, someone will pull on that...
I have used the fabric chain with success. And also the kevlar Michelin ones. The first working slightly better. I live in a national park with a lot of snow, so i need those. The fabric ones are easier to put on. I have to remove them once outside the park.
Taken from the article:
"However, the lawsuit says, the slowing issues also occur when the i3 switches from battery power to the Range Extenders."
The i3 never switch from battery power to the Range extenders. No wonder if journalist write it wrongly, that many people won't understand that...
""""So you're saying that if I switch the REX on with 30% battery left (or anything over 6%), run out of gas, then the car will definitely continue running?
Yes. This is the way i drive it when i know that i have long stretch to do. I hold the the holding point to 75%, and use all the fuel i...
There is no such thing as "back to the electricity", or "back to the battery". Like explained by others, it always takes the power (energy) from the battery. REX running or not. So you don't have to fear to be stuck without power in the scenario you describe. As long you have energy in the...
The only problem i have with my I3 since 3 years is the Rex showing notice that i won't start and that i can continue my trip only on electricity. Each visit to the dealer finish with locating the problem with the fuel being transformed to Jello. I don't use the Rex for months. Fuel is Shell...
If you are in a hurry, DVDinmotion solution. So simple i was able to do it myself. Even if i still fumble with the Bimmercode solution. Been using it since three years and i never had any issue with it.
You receive a file by email, copy it to a USB stick, put the USB stick in the USB of the...
I ordered a set of those fabric snow chains. They weight nothing and fit in the frunk with my portable charging cable. I live in a forest. Snow removal is not bad, when they come. For 3 years, i wasn't able to go up the extra hill to the garage maybe 3 times. I have the very good Nokian...
