Break service needed already? 2017 Rex with under 37,000 km

Disc brakes occasionally drag due to the pad not sliding away from the disc so that there is a slight drag. The drag may not be noticeable to the driver, but, long term, there will be excessive wear, I check my hubs occasionally with an IR thermometer to ensure there are no problems.

Anybody have an brake-related accident in an i3?

I have had the same sort of hard stops in two different I3s (2017, 2019). The brakes worked perfectly in every instance.

    End of production

I meet Tesla Model 3's most days. At a distance, I think it is just another cheap economy car. As it passes, I realize it is a Tesla. To me, they are uninspiring old-school designs to the eye. Inside, I hate the oversize display of info that should be up in front of the eyes and the...

    i3 being seen as Ugly

Neat little 3-wheeler, but why, oh why are there 3-pedals. Why would they need or have a clutch on an electric car?

Driving on Gas only.. Can I drive 200 miles

My 2019 is set to HSC and is usually set to charge from midnight to 6 AM. I can set it either in the car or remotely without problems. My itinerary changes constantly, so I set it quite often. I think you want to set to something like 0:01 AM for the start.

Driving on Gas only.. Can I drive 200 miles

After you code it, go to the page on your center display where you turn HSC on and off. Press and hold any preset button (most of us use preset #8). When the bar gets down to 75%, just touch that preset button to start the REx. Touch it again to stop the REx. I seldom hear the REx when out...

Driving on Gas only.. Can I drive 200 miles

I bought my 2019 in San Antonio, 85 miles away. Stopped 2 blocks from the dealer and coded Hold State of Charge (HSC). Arrived home with 70% battery and still had fuel in the REx tank. With coding, 200 miles would be easy, given gas stations enroute.

    Using the i3 to Tow

Some years ago, I was using my Chevy Blazer to tow a stock trailer occupied by a 1500# bull. The shotgun trailer had a moveable gate at the fore and aft center. I put the bull in the front section and secured the gate with a piece of fence wire since the latch was broken. At about 50 miles...

Used i3 checklist - what's the first things you recommend doing after receiving the car?

HSC - Hold State of Charge. Allows REx to start anywhere below 75%

Used i3 checklist - what's the first things you recommend doing after receiving the car?

I just turned on some features that are already native to the car and available in other countries. When I traded my previous I3, the dealer did not care. No reason they should care now.

Used i3 checklist - what's the first things you recommend doing after receiving the car?

I bought my 2019 87 miles from home. I drove a couple of blocks from the dealer, found a parking place, and coded the car to allow HSC at 75%. I arrived home with over 70% battery. I did not want to run the battery way down since I had only the level 1 charger. Once home, I finished the...

    Maximum range indicator

My 2019 will show 187 miles or more in warm weather, but it showed 147 miles today in my cold garage. The estimated mileage is in inverse with the temperature.

    Rear Camera Malfunction message

It took me two months and a lot of phone calls to get the second keyfob and my license for my CPO 2019. The license arrived by mail one day after my temporary permit expired and the keyfob the next day. The dealer is 80 miles away, so everything had to be done by phone calls, messages, or emails.

    I Officially Hate Deer

We have plenty of deer. Fourteen in our back yard this evening. The does, in particular, have learned to pretty much stay away from cars in our subdivision. There are two periods each year when I really worry about hitting one. In the spring, the fawns haven't learned about cars. In the...

Question on Installing Level 2 Charger @Home

Given that in my house, it required 100'+ of wire through the attic from the service as far from the garage as it could be and still the same house, I settled for a 30-amp service with a 1430 outlet. Because I drive only short distances each day and because believe that slow charging is best...
