Had the dealer look at my roof because it looks to be developing the problem others are having with the roof. They said it looked like someone else had already tried to do something with the roof, therefore it's not covered under warranty.
I'm not familiar with what the original roof looks...
Normally I do set the preconditioning Mike. The operative word there is 'normally.". I shut off the preconditioning" as my kids schools are closed , due to covid 19, and we all don't get up early for the time being. I'll change the preconditioning time.
My car charges in our garage. It's...
Note that the BMW Connected doesn't provide you an update on the cars charge when it's off. If you scroll down the screen, you'll see the last time the car gave you an update on the range data. I don't know why BMW decided to do that, but it is what it is. You will see updates if the car is...
Is there any proof there's an actual parachute effect? I was more concerned about the crud getting into the engine compartment. I'm thinking it's necessary for some cooling, ability to allow heat to escape.
Thanks for all the input. Yes I'm aware that the car is technically the charger and controls the amount of charge it pulls. That said, I typically charge from near empty and the charge maxes out at 6.1kW where the Chargepoint EVSE indicates it's capable of doing 6.6kW. Was wondering why this...
This is a good point.
Does REX end up running at it's maximum speed if used to hold state of charge on the highway? Wondering if it may run at a lower speed given there is more room to play with than at 6.5%
Had to run the REX today and when parking the car noticed the cooling system sound was different from a previous session.
The sound was more like a large fan running at a rather high speed to cool.
On a different occasion, I think I had the car preconditioning which was making more of a air...
I'm in TX and the weather temp is close to ideal, meaning I didn't have any HVAC functions on. Just the power required to literally move the car 200 or so feet. I understand all of the points you are making about the car trying to make estimate. I didn't know it was a rolling 18 miles, that's...
I'm new to the car and trying to understand how it estimates. I thought it was intelligent and would eventually improve it's estimation of range based on driving style. Meaning it would give me a range based on driving habits/weather, being able to give me an accurate range at the start of...
Wondering if this is normal. After a full L2 charge, I typically have to move my car to a parking spot before leaving for the day. I typically immediately a mile or 2 of reported range making a very short move from one parking spot to another lets say .1 miles. Is this normal?
