I've not had this happen to me either and I very rarely use the brake pedal nowadays (approaching 2 yrs with my i3 now). There's a good video on youtube showing what the brake lights do in various driving situations:

Seems unlikely, but perhaps your...
It does sound a lot like the creaking sound on turns I had on mine which the dealer diagnosed as a broken engine generator mount. Have you had any situations where one of the rear wheels lost traction under acceleration recently? If so that would lend more credence to it being that particular...
Sorry to hear that Sparky. Being very publicly let down by your car (and BMW) in that way sucks.
It does sound like the motor mount. Did you have any creaking sounds coming from the back of the car going around corners prior?
Like Tom says, please let us known the verdict once they've diagnosed.
On mine the only symptom was a creaking noise on slow right hand turns. From what I've seen from posts on the facebook group, if the problem develops you end up with a grinding noise when starting the car, a drivetrain malfunction light and a car that won't start.
I have my car back now after a...
Like others have said, this can be caused by various problems. I had it recently on my 2014 REX about 5 months into ownership and the 3rd time I'd used the REX. The dealer diagnosed as a faulty fuel tank isolation valve and it took them a few days to get the part and replace.
I would have it checked out by BMW. I know you said you checked out the engine mount, but my car is with the dealer right now for a sound not dissimilar to yours when going round corners. They diagnosed it as a broken/damaged engine mount bolt. A number of other people have had the same failure...
Sorry to hear about that scary situation arlorose. My car is 5 months old and has had it's fair share of problems, but fortunately nothing as dangerous as that yet. The i3 is my first BMW and is also going to be the last :(
Have you considered talking to BMW NA about a buyback? It sounds like...
Sparky, I hope you're right about a recall coming. I don't want to have to baby this car every time I go near a pothole or tree root. The LA roads are surprisingly bad for this kind of thing, but I've never had a problem before.
I suspect a pothole is what caused it on my car btw as I went over...
My REX is in the shop right now for a CEL and a noise coming from the back of the car on right turns. Turns out the noise is due to ... a broken engine mount. That's after just 2.5k of gentle city miles.
IMO there's clearly a design fault here that they need to fix and roll out to everyone.
Hi,
Yes this is one of the first things I did when I got my car, that beep is obnoxious. You can disable it in the settings menu here:
Settings>Doors/Key>Acuoustic sig.Lock/Unlock
Btw, I found the setting on Tom Moloughney's site:
