    Disappointed with range

I have made 92miles on a full charge - in the summer - warm, dry, mostly rolling hills at about 50mph - some short stretches on "freeway" at 60mph. I was working very hard to never touch the brakes & spend as much time with the cruise control on as possible. And the car was virtually brand new...

    Disappointed with range

It makes a lot of sense that hills will make a big difference - as will speed - as wind resistance is proportional to the square of the speed. I think all of us are disappointed with the winter range, but it seems pretty consistent.

    UK Finding/ using recharging points

I was unhappy about getting a REX, but the paucity & fragility of the recharge infrastructure - and the drop in range in the winter has made me very glad I did. Turning up at a charge station & finding it is knackered is not a disaster. Of course it shouldn't be knackered, but it really is...

    UK Finding/ using recharging points

Are the ecotricity fast chargers still incompatible with the i3? Nothing seems to have changed in 9 months which is a bit of a worry. We are still carrying around a lot of different cards & have yet to use the ecotricity one.... Even though I believe it is free.

    Disappointed with range

Yep I got about that range in similar conditions with my REX.

    Disappointed with range

My life is insufficiently regular for the pre-set times to be very useful & the iPhone app does not always connect effectively to the car, so I am losing some advantaged, but it is also real life.

    Disappointed with range

I'm a little confused by the request. The two states are average air temp about 17C & then about 7C. My experiment with resetting the energy consumption seems to confirm there isn't a software issue, although it's possible I have a subtle issue with the energy management system. I am trying to...

    Disappointed with range

I reset my energy/ distance record in the recent cold weather & it's increased by about 25% - which is the same as the drop in predicted mileage.

    Disappointed with range

Well Mike, I don't get 75miles at 10C either - more like high 68's. What's happening with the stops is the car & battery have to re-warm themselves after each halt & it consumes 4-5 miles of range..... Another thing we weren't told. ICE cars of course warm themselves on waste heat from the...

    Disappointed with range

I've just got my i3 back after the recall for the replacement of the driveshaft between the REX & the generator. But they mysteriously kept it for a week longer than expected & it will be very interesting to see if the range has miraculously improved after I complained about it. I will let you...

    Disappointed with range

Today I pre-warmed/ preconditioned it & the car still said 63 miles range so I remain concerned. Does anyone know what "battery preconditioning" is. Or how long it takes? I am running the car interior pretty cool - 18C in a 14C climate so I would be surprised if the resistive heating dropped 20...

    Disappointed with range

I am concerned. I have owned my i3 for 8 months & when I charge it the estimated maximum range has dropped from about 80 miles to about 60 miles. These seem to be real world - as opposed to computer predicted ranges as I could get 80+ miles before the REX cut in going cross country & now it's...

REx "quality" recall and s/w update

My i3 is going in next week for 3 days for the recall. Interestingly the car stopped doing it's automatic monthly run up of the REX motor 3 months ago. I assume remote software updates occur. Geoff

    UK Finding/ using recharging points

My fear is that in the near future charging bays will be blocked for extended periods by fully charged EV's and it is something we all have to commit to avoid. We have all seen selfish fools park in disabled bays & then spring energetically from their cars & we need to bear this in mind for the...
