    Bonnet fails to remain closed

Did you have the Key fob in your pocket? If so you may just have been activating the button for the Frunk release inadvertently, it's a known issue and has been known for cars to have rolled down windows and wet interiors as a result, the Blue key fob cover if put on back to front can help with...

    Wheel size versus boot/trunk size

Seen a few pictures over on the FB forums of owners with the full winter set in the back ( seats down), Not sure if you would get one in flat. Upright perhaps with the parcel shelf removed.

    REx Class Action Lawsuit

I typed in haste but yep there are Freeway minimums some thoughts on that here :- http://www.rita.dot.gov/bts/sites/rita.dot.gov.bts/files/publications/journal_of_transportation_and_statistics/volume_07_number_23/html/paper_06/index.html Were owners made aware that this could happen, well...

    REx Class Action Lawsuit

Hagens Berman should perhaps have read the manual supplied with each vehicle that warns of the very situation they wish to sue for. Caveat Emptor - Buyer beware. Travelling slowly on the highway is not a crime or illegal as far as I'm aware. Not a single accident or fatality as far as I'm...

Class action lawsuit on battery reserve

Even if BMW had chosen to give the Carb classification a miss and set up the car as the rest of the world gets it, it is still a possibility for negligent owners too stupid or idle to read the manual that came with the car to get into the same situation that a minority of owners may have...

moving to EU with i3 REX

You will also need to get import Type approval and may well be taxed on importation, aside from the lighting regulations mentioned you would also need to change over from Miles to KM on the speedo. Short answer is... it is probably better to just sell up and repurchase an i3 in the Netherlands...

BMW I3 REx vs. Audi A3 Sportback E-Tron

I have driven both and was about to order the Audi eTron before I tested my i3 Rex. I like Audi's and have owned many. But the i3 just blew us both away as a car, my wife was very anti BMW until this point. The suitability of either vehicle depends very much on you motoring needs. But as your...

    Valuation/depreciation of i3

WBAC obviously have no interest in the vehicle hence the ridiculous low ball price offered. They want mass market vehicles to sell at auction as they are in reality a trading arm of British car Auctions. I would not really worry yourself unless you are desperate to offload your car. Just enjoy...

    underbody protection

Fore a road car I3 is actually quite good for ground clearance, my concern would be more that you have only a can of Tyre sealant as a back up in case a rock or tree branch damages a Tyre beyond what the sealant can cope with, Then you have no jack either so you will be stuck. plus 1.5 Km is...

    Expanded battery option on BEV

It's a silly Idea, I'm siding with Jad ^^. If you want more range buy something with more range from the outset , trade up, or wait until details of any battery upgrade options become available from Mid '16. Even then it is likely to be an uneconomic pathway, much like what you propose.

About to buy an i3. Will it be ok in winter driving?

Only You can really answer the choice to make between BEV & Rex. If You NEVER, travel more than 30 miles from home winter and Summer than you would probably be ok with the BEV, for peace of mind while Utah develops a better charging infrastructure and for those days when you might want to travel...

BMW i talks about larger EV, increased i3 range in 2016

You believed a salesman ! :D I would wait,a bit longer as an 'Official' announcement was kind of promised for the end of the year ( possibly).

    The $730 dog vomit

Not wishing to sound unsympathetic as you are obviously a caring pet owner, most would do anything and pay huge vets bills etc for their canine family member. But blaming BMW for the consequences of your pets' mishap seems a bit harsh in the context that you describe. End of the day what would...

Hybrid electric drivers drive more electric miles.

I can only echo some of the sentiments of Rex owners on here, without the Rex option the main user (my OH) would not have been very comfortable with the BEV range under all circumstances Winter/Summer, as we have a 60 mile commute with a free to use CCS Rapid stop en route this has eliminated...

    battery life

You don't give us a clue where you are in the world, But in the UK wintertime when it is @ 5deg Celsius for much of the time it is perfectly normal to see a reduction in the indicated range of 25-30%. Using Eco Pro, or Eco Pro plus and Seat heating will mitigate this. As will the use of Mains...

    Hello, new member

The BMW wall box is overly large for what it needs to do, you may like the designer look, but essentially it's 3-4 x bigger than say a Polar unit. Also the cable management is poor, in that there is no way to coil up the cable neatly. You could just cancel the install and have a look at what...
