    REx Class Action Lawsuit

True, and this wasn't meant to be taken as a serious solution proposal. However, by having the Rex kick in much sooner 10% or even 20% there would be far more room for the battery to discharge before going into limp mode. Again not a complete or even viable solution, but it would be an...

    REx Class Action Lawsuit

As I recall the problem with the café regulation was that the i3 couldn't travel farther on fuel than battery to officially qualify as a "Range Extended" EV, and thus qualify for the full tax benefits. This being the case, the simplest solution would simply be to give all of us Rex owners the...

    Fast forward button on steering?

It wouldn't surprise me if someone has come up with a software change that did this, but I've simply reverted to keeping the radio/media screen active on eth center display and using the iDrive control knob to skip tracks.

66 mile round-trip commute Monday to Friday

I have driven my Rex for extended periods on >100mi trips between NH and RI, and the comments are correct that you cannot maintain 80+mph cruising speeds without draining the battery. However, I can confirm that the Rex can traditionally keep up at 70mph. Additionally, lets compare the...

66 mile round-trip commute Monday to Friday

IF you had home charging capability or knew that you'd have consistent access to the charges at work, you'd probably be fine without the Rex. However, as a Rex owner, I'd go with the Rex simply to give you peace of mind on those days (especially the cooler ones) you need to run out to lunch or...

    Noisy steering wheel while turning

Thanks and wish me luck. My dealership had no idea what I was talking about when I informed them there was a service bulletin for this.

    Noisy steering wheel while turning

I know I've seen this discussed here before, but cannot seem to find the thread(s) Isn't there a recommended service fix for the noisy steering wheel issue? As I recall, this mainly was a problem when the interior was hot, but I also recall there being a fairly simple fix (dealer to apply a...

How many have had the drive train malfunction error?

Happened to me about two weeks ago on a 120mi return trip after significant Rex run time, but the message literally popped up as soon as I pulled into my driveway. And, the next time I drove the car it was gone and I made the same 240mi round trip (120mi each way of different days starting with...

    GOM range algorithm

I never program my route or really even use the sat nav at all. So the car should have no knowledge that I would not be simply driving back to work on a Saturday morning unless it recognizes, learned, and remembers that on Saturdays, my driving is traditionally limited to just around town.

    GOM range algorithm

My departure times are pretty much the same (give or take 30min), and I agree with epirali, the jumps are too big to be temperature related (outside of the winter months with and without battery preconditioning active).

    GOM range algorithm

Has anyone else noticed that the GOM also appears to account for past driving habits for a given day (ie weekends versus weekdays)? I bring this up because, I have noticed that for five days a week (M-F) when I take the car to work (mostly highway), the GOM predicts a much lower expected range...

Discharging battery while plugged in on OUC

The car is sitting completely ideal with no preconditioning or departure times set.

Discharging battery while plugged in on OUC

About a week ago I noticed that after leaving my i3 on the charger overnight (w/ OUC as usual) the battery SOC barely moved from the night before (as if it was only trickle charging). After unplugging, turning the car on/off, and plugging it back in, the battery charged as usual. Now, just...

Car stops charging as soon as the door is locked.

Make sure you're charge rate is set to "maximum". I had a similar issue when I first brought my i3 home, and I had convinced myself it was when the doors locked, but it turn out to just be something with the charging system shutting off. I convinced myself there was something either in the car...

Electric Vehicle Charging Stations POI for Nav

Thanks for the tip. Although hard to believe, that makes sense.

Electric Vehicle Charging Stations POI for Nav

Apparently BWM figured this is only a convenience feature because they neglected to include that tab on the base nav system. or perhaps it was deleted because I have a REx, but either way this is absurd.

Electric Vehicle Charging Stations POI for Nav

Perhaps this is buried somewhere in the various menus, or I'm just totally missing it. But, I find it fairly ridiculous that I can easily find every possible gas station within a few miles of me through the Nav's POI menu, but I can't seem to find any way to list the closest vehicle charging...

    i remote app not working

I was just able to log out and log back in without any problems. However, I had a similar issue a few weeks back and they had to reset my account because even though I was using the correct password, the account became locked after three failed attempts.

    connected services down?

Is anyone else having problems with their connected services or iremote app? On Friday I notice that after I sent a command to precondition my car, the app never showed the service as being completed and in turn locked me out of sending or scheduling anything thereafter. After trying to log...
