    Lease Deal I Negotiated: Good/Bad?

It's going to be hard to get a really low lease payment on a $50K+ car with $0 down. Yes, there are some very good incentives available right now. But that will only do so much. In the end, it'll take some cash up front if you want a low payment. One can lease a VW Jetta for $0 down and a...

    Awesome deal! Well done!

How do I calculate what it costs to charge my i3?

Ah, I see now. Thanks! So, in the worst-case scenario of recharging a completely drained battery every day, it'll cost me roughly $60/month in electricity. Of course, I won't be draining the battery every day so it'll be a lot less than that. So for roughly the equivalent of filling the tank in...

How do I calculate what it costs to charge my i3?

I've had my i3 for about a week and am loving it. We named it "Watney" after Matt Damon's character in The Martian because BMW really scienced the shit out of this car! I've been trying to figure out how much it costs me to charge the car, assuming a fully depleted battery. But I'm not an...

Well, that didn't take long! Check engine light is on.

Somehow the CEL turned itself off today. I took the i3 for the longest trip so far since getting it (100 miles round trip) and when I set off this morning I noticed the light was off. It's been staying off so far. I'm still going to bring it in for service to find out what caused it, but there...

    Lease Deal I Negotiated: Good/Bad?

Wow, that's a GREAT deal! Nicely done! :o FWIW, when I was being quoted lease rates, the 24 month had the lowest payment. I would normally expect the longer term to have lower payments, but apparently that's not the case.

Well, that didn't take long! Check engine light is on.

Wow, you got me beat by 110 miles! Hopefully the update will get it squared away.

Well, that didn't take long! Check engine light is on.

On Monday, Dec. 7 I took delivery of a new 2015 i3 REX with 14 miles on the odometer. It's now Wednesday, Dec. 9 with 124 miles, and when I got in it today to run some errands, the Check Engine light came on when I booted it up. I'm used to seeing the CEL on a BMW (I've had a bunch of them -...

    Lease Deal I Negotiated: Good/Bad?

I have scanned my Retail Purchase Agreement, which shows the total cash up-front amount that I paid and the final negotiated selling price of the car. And I've scanned the Lease Agreement which shows how all the numbers were manipulated to arrive at the selling price and monthly payments. I...

    Lease Deal I Negotiated: Good/Bad?

I can only assume that BMW is offering dealers some kind of unadvertised incentives to move the remaining 2015 inventory. It may have just been "salesman-speak", but someone I spoke to at the dealership mentioned that they were way behind on their sales quotas and seriously needed to move some...

    Level 3 Home Charger

Awesome info - thanks! And now that you mention it, I do believe he was referring to the DCFC. There is so much to learn about this car! The newest vehicle I own is a 2003 BMW Z4. All the new data I'm processing almost overwhelming! So I'm thankful for this board and the folks who have a head...

    Level 3 Home Charger

I picked up a new i3 REX last night and by the time the deal was done, it was well past the dealership's closing time. However, the Genius offered to stay as late as I wanted to go over the features of the car. But I was getting very hungry, it was getting late, and it was getting cold. So we...

    Lease Deal I Negotiated: Good/Bad?

Thanks! I feel pretty good about the deal. I forgot to mention that they also gave us $100 worth of BMW Lifestyle goodies. I got a BMW "i" baseball cap and my wife was given a really nice leather laptop case. So if anyone is looking for an i3 in Georgia, it would be worth your time to check...

    Lease Deal I Negotiated: Good/Bad?

Well, it's a done deal. I just got home from BMW of Macon a little while ago with my new i3 REX. And I have to say that it was an extremely pleasant experience. In total, the paperwork took less than 10 minutes to complete and there were no hard sells of any extras. I have an appointment to go...

    Lease Deal I Negotiated: Good/Bad?

To quote Leasi3, do you mean $0 down as in "nothing paid to drive out" or "nothing in addition to the tax, title, doc, etc fees? Also, it greatly depends on the price of the car. In my case the sticker is a little over $53K and discounted by $15.5K. My deal is now $6000 cash due and $221/month

    Lease Deal I Negotiated: Good/Bad?

Sorry about that - still learning the lingo… In this case, the "cash due" is $7,000. Then the payment on a 24 month lease is $176 for 10K annual miles.

    Lease Deal I Negotiated: Good/Bad?

If by "MSD", you mean Multiple Security Deposit, I am doing that. In the $100/mo example, the $700 security deposit is the MSD ($100 X 7). Latest offer from dealer: $7,000 down (includes all fees, etc) and $176/mo for 24 months and 10K miles.

    Lease Deal I Negotiated: Good/Bad?

Can you elaborate on how I can get a great lease payment without going into my pocket as much? What's MSD? I'm just confused on how to avoid putting down a payment for a lease. This is a big part of why I've never wanted to lease a car - the deals are so (deliberately?) confusing! To answer...

    Lease Deal I Negotiated: Good/Bad?

I'm trying to negotiate a lease on a 2015 i3 w/Range Extender, and this is the best deal I've gotten from my dealer so far: Tera World Technology & Driving Assistant Package 20" Wheels Arravani Gray w/BMW i Frozen Blue Accent MSRP: $53,454 Down payment: $9000 Monthly payment for 24 month...

Does anyone regret getting an i3?

Thanks for the additional info! From what I understand after reading on this forum, is that the $7500 credit will go to BMW if I lease through BMW FS. That's also the way the salesman explained it to me.
