That's really weird, low fuel level warning is an US standard feature lised on some BMW dealer website:

I never see a low fuel level warning comes up when I run out of gas, maybe BMW even didn't design this feature for i3.
Does anyone ever see the warning shows up in your i3?
Thanks
As known dealer service may cause our aftermarket coding set gone, is there any way we can backup my car coding setting to a file, and restore it from backup file anytime we want.
I left my car at dealer this afternoon for software update, they told me a full software upgrade takes about 12-14 hours, will see if range increased tomorrow.
Actually, their price are very close in the market, I found Pro for 744,58 EUR on Germany, and Pure is selling for 899 USD on eBay.
Buying from Germany also can get VAT refund, just adds about 50 EUO shipping to US.
Just saw an old post which can increase gas range to 101 mile, unbelievable!!!

My firmware version is I001-16-03-505, looks not old, but only display 53 mile without tank coding, even after coding tank's...
I am looking for buying a BMW i Wallbox Pro , according the BMW EU website:
The BMW i Wallbox Pro offers even better charging performance than the BMW i Wallbox Pure. For example, it can charge the BMW i8 to 80 % of its maximum capacity in under two hours – depending on the electricity...
I believe it may caused by A/c compressor, but I just don't understand why BMW can't make this better, I checked about 7 of i3 that day, the 2014 model even worse, more loud and sharp.
You should check from outside of your car, this noise can't be heard if driving.
Just find a quiet place, start engine to blue, then turn on the A/C, open your driver side door, focus on rear left tire, then you will hear it.
Try this:

This noise sounds like a fan, but not normal, it just happen when A/C turns on.
Also it has a little bit different than the fan for battery charging.
Finally, I found the noise was happened when A/C turns on, and I recorded as attached.
I recorded it, but I don't know how to attach a sound file here.
