    Charging with reduced power.

2014 BEV here. I have the “charging at reduced power” for over a year now. My commute is 20 miles, so no huge rush to get this fixed. I plugin with a Juicebox level 2. The car charges slow, near 110v plug speeds. Any chance the car will brick if the KLE were to completely fail? I’m pretty sure...

    My i3 is Dead

What did you use to charge the 12V?

Door reflectors falling out; airco fails

Sorry for reviving this 5-6 years old thread, but my passenger side reflector fell out today. One of the tabs is broken and it won't stay in place. Anyone find an alternative or workaround to the OEM piece? I feel like I can get some double sided tape and stick it on. As people have mentioned...

12 V battery replacement suggestions needed

For me, the message appeared only at startup. And it can easily be cleared off the screen like nothing happened. And it only appears after being parked for an extended period of time (overnight or longer). It would go away and wouldn't see it for several days as well. So I disregarded it, and...

12 V battery replacement suggestions needed

To follow up on my previous post, I tried hooking up my ICE to the i3 via jumper cables. Unfortunately, the alarm continued to chirp, but the headlights started flashing and the horn was honking with the alarm. Some lights and error messages popped up on the screens, so there might have been...

12 V battery replacement suggestions needed

I left the i3 (2014, BEV) in the driveway (unplugged). I took the ICE on an overnight trip, and when I returned today and I unlocked the i3 with the key fob, and the alarm goes off and I can't turn it off. I grabbed both key fobs, and mashed all the buttons. Nothing. Car doesn't powerup either...

    Brake fluid change

So... things got busy and I never got around to the brake fluid change. I took the i3 to the local dealer for a software update (and other things) and decided to have them do the brake fluid, cost me $220 (Southern California).

    Brake fluid change

Thanks for the replies, thus far. I purchased my i3 used, so I'm outta luck with the maintenance plan. Besides, I like to get my hand dirty every so often. BTW, the brake fluid cap states "use Dot 4 fluid." Now I have to figure out how much I need.

    Brake fluid change

My i3 is due for brake fluid service. Has anyone does this DIY yet? I haven't found anything online. Is it the same setup as other modern vehicles? Release the bleeder valve on the caliper, pump the brakes, refill the master cylinder, repeat for all four corner, done? Also, what brake fluid is...

    non-OEM Brake pads

While I am a "spirited" driver, I highly doubt I *need* to change my pads at this point (33k miles, though, I haven't opened things up to check), due to the aggressive regen characteristics of this car, etc. The reason I ask is, my brakes creak a lot. When the car comes to a rest or lightly...

    non-OEM Brake pads

Has anybody changed their brake pads to anything other than OEM BMW pads? If so, what did you choose? I'm having a hard time finding quality listings on Amazon (US). But I was able to cross reference some parts with Mini Coopers. Piggy back question; do the base Cooper and i3 share common parts?

Weathertech Floor Mats- FRONT & REAR $149 shipped

I just put my order in. Will see what happens. I have weathertech floorliners in my other cars and I love them. Especially if you have kids. Update: my order was shipped the day after I ordered and arrived 5 days later (California) ::thumbsup::

Eucalyptus wood dash seems to have faded

Old thread, I know. I was thinking of putting a cell phone mount on the dash, but then thought about the possible uneven fading this may cause. Curious if anyone has tried to re-stain the wood dash. I prefer a darker wood stain to better go with the dark Tera interior.

Cost to Install Level 2 Charger in a Detached Garage

I put in a request on Amazon, a couple local electricians contacted me and quotes ranged from $300-$600. I had one of them come out to look and he gave me a quote for $350. I'm in So. Calif, with a detached garage. The breaker box is on the outside of the garage, and I'm having an outlet put in...

    Speaker alternative

Sorry for resurrecting a 2+ year old thread, but my inquiry is the same... Any discoveries in aftermarket speakers for the base system? And in case you're wondering, Crutchfield still have nothing for i3's.

    Newbie, confused by BMW salesman

Greetings all, first post for me, I'm looking forward to being a (near) future i3 owner. I'd like to share my experience of my first test drive of the REX this past week. I contacted a sales person the night before and made an appointment to see a REX they had on the lot. When I pulled up the...
