I have a 2017 REX
Getting about 85+ in cold weather.
And 120+ in the Summer.
And, I have the REX just in case.
I have never needed the REX unit.
Car is doing better, since the last software update.
They updated the software, when they fixed the front airbag situation.
Doing great.
Updated to 2018-1 maps.
I regret it.
Systems is no longer as stable.
Keep getting strange routing.
I purchased the lifetime code.
The system did not ask for it.
Looking forward to the 2018-2 maps.
I will put almost 20,000 miles on my i3 this year.
It is working well.
Very reliable.
In the Summertime, I have a range of 120+ miles.
In the Wintertime, less, usually about 85+ miles.
I also have a REX Unit. I have never needed it.
Just glad that it is there, in case.
I have used the FAST...
I have had good luck on ice and snow.
However, I would also like to turn off the regen.
It would make my driving easier.
Any suggestions?
Future change in the software?
All in all, the i3 is a pretty good foul weather car.
Update: 24 hrs after getting a new Fuel Surge Valve and updated software.
Apparently, I damaged the valve by overfilling the fuel tank on the REX unit.
Fill slowly and stop when it clicks off.
They fixed it under warranty with no problems. I will try to do a better job of fueling.
Software...
Just picked up the i3 from the dealer.
All fixed.
it appears that the software updates helped the car's performance.
I will let you know.
It now is a bit faster, with more range.
My i3 is in the shop for the fourth time.
They are telling me, that I overfill the tank, when I fuel up.
Does anyone have an insight into this situation?
Or had a similar problem?
My i3 is in the shop for the airbag update.
They also mentioned, a 2nd recall/update.
It has something to do with better performance and range.
Does anyone know anything about it?
2017 i3 REX
I live in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA
It usually indicates 68 miles, when it is cold outside..
More during the warmer months.
The fillup took 2.313 US gallons.
I am wondering, is there more available?
I do have the adapter.
Thanks
Tom
