    Electronaut Edition...

Or just decided not to get the i3... Like me.

Do you have an i3 on order and awaiting delivery?

Electronauts were not charged a deposit and had no commitment to close the deal once the car is delivered. Several decided NOT to configure a car when the initial lease figures came in (at the really atrocious rates that were first reported). In fact, quite a few of the higher mileage West...

Do you have an i3 on order and awaiting delivery?

At least you're in California, so you have the benefit of driving down (or getting your dealer to do a trade) to the Long Beach location. All of these cars look like their the "launch" edition, the MSRPs were all fully loaded. Though not sure, I spent the time to check out the one I had built...

Do you have an i3 on order and awaiting delivery?

Ok... Turned down a Ionic Silver BEV Electronaut Edition almost fully loaded, missing the Parking Assist that was going to replace my Active E at Long Beach BMW (California) and it's up for grabs... I had tried to get my sister and her husband to pick it up and be their first EV, but it was too...

    Unpublished special lease offer!

What's the rate? I am opting to not take delivery of my Electronaut Edition i3 as I got used to driving my Model S and my wife won't garage her Roadster (as well as a few other things), but got my sister and her husband interested in the car. Their challenge was price, so if there's a deal...

    USA

Thanks Tom. Just changed the order to BEV from BEVx. My car is still not in production... Just didn't want to risk it. Besides, I have access to a NEMA 14-50 on both ends (and a JESLA to charge from)

    BEV or BEVx? Pictures?

BMW still needs to get the i3 REX approved for the list... That's still not there (believe me, I've been checking in with the "geniuses" for a while now...)

For California i3 REX people... This will be of interest. Looks like Green will be out before BMW even gets it approved for the sticker. Change of plans to BEV, I guess.

The i3 spotted in Movies and TV (product placement)

Just finished watching the Bug bang theory episode on March 13. 2014 (The Mommy Observation) and spotted an i3 in Solar orange in the last scene... (It was supposed to be 20 years in the future.)

    Range extender or Not?

Scott, I'm in the LA area as well and aside from the NRG station in San Diego and a GM Advanced Powertrain Facility in Torrance, where are the other CSS DC chargers? There are a lot of CHAdeMO DC Chargers and the Tesla Supercharger in Hawthorne, but both of these are incompatible with the US...

How many current/former Active E drivers on this board?

Just returned mine on the 23rd of February and still have an i3 on order and wondering whether to just back out... The latest about the i3 REX not being on the official Green Sticker list is bumming me out and is the additional straw (on top of removing the sunroof) to push me toward leaving...

I3 vampire loads when parked off the grid

Ultraturtle, I don't have as much experience as Tom on BMWi vehicles, but have one of the highest miles in the country for the Active E and own both a Roadster and Model S. Those of us with the Active E were testing the same battery chemistry as well as drivetrain as the i3. I have observed...

    My I3 is ordered

Todd, the i3 is supposed to charge at 7.4Kw speed. a 30A Clipper Creek is closer to 6.6Kw. There are several choices on higher speed portable charging. Clipper Creek just launched one that plugs into a NEMA 14-50 outlet (however, I believe the unit is also 30A) and I've been recommending...

    Electronaut Edition...

Thanks... I've heard the same from my salesperson... Now deciding whether this is worth it. It's a few grand less than the initial rumors.

    ActiveE to i3 transition

I wonder if that's enough time to get the a Green CA stickers for the i3 REX.

i3 EV Range Inadequate for US cities, Rex Thwarted

Well... There are 49 other states in the Union, plus DC, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands to worry about too... So, the BEVx category still benefits our friends that follow CARB. Folks in NJ (the North American home of BMW and TomMoloughney) will be able to get an i3 REX with no sales...

    Electronaut Edition...

Well... That's something. Not as much as the choice of World and whatever the other thing originally rumored to be was, but still, it's something... Thanks Tom.

    Electronaut Edition...

So... February 4th is here... There have been reports that the Electronaut Edition would be announced between February 3rd to February 5th... Figure, the 4th is in the middle... Anyone know what the "official" specs are?

    TURBOCORD

I would suggest TonyWilliams' JESLA, for portable up to 40A J1772 EV Charging. It basically adapts a Tesla Model S MC to portable charging from 110V to 240V 40A charging. I have tested it with a Model S, Roadster, Nissan Leaf, and BMW Active E. Works just fine. NEMA 14-50 can be found at...
