    charging station updates?

I don't know where you are based, but in the UK the professional NAV recently added a whole new bunch of data. I have had my i3 for six months now. For the first few months only one brand of fairly rare charging station was visible through the NAV. I checked again recently and found that Charge...

    Disappointed with range

    Check your tyre pressures too.

    UK software update

Having seen numerous posts on here and on the sister Facebook page from our US friends about the software update to correct the aircon / heat pump issues, I am wondering if anyone in the UK has had the new software update yet? The reason for asking is that I have my car booked in with Lloyds BMW...

    BEV only experiences

Similar experience here. I have managed to put 500 miles on mine during the first week of ownership. All very easy, no error messages, no complication. I certainly think the simplicity of the BEV, where the technology has been thoroughly tested through the active E programme should mean there...

    Factory Tour, August 21, 2014

Sounds interesting. I was hoping to organise another week's holiday this summer. This could fit in nicely with a tour of the region. Don't think my BEV will be making the trip though.

Buying as a private owner or through my limited company?

Hi, I'm in a similar position but decided to buy my i3 outright through my limited company. It was this article that swayed me. I posted under a different heading back in January, but the taxation position for BIK has changed slightly from 2015 in the last budget...

    UK Rapid Charging

Looks like Northumberland could be the place to be for access to EV rapid chargers. http://chargedevs.com/newswire/northumberland-deploys-20-abb-multi-standard-dc-fast-chargers/ Let's hope the rest of the country catches up soon! Duncan

    UK Rapid Charging

As soon as I'd typed my last reply, ChargeYourCar replied to my tweet to confirm the CCS ( CHAdeMO and what looks like AC rapid connection as well), charge point in Morpeth is one of theirs. It hasn't been commissioned yet though!

    UK Rapid Charging

Hi Brian, It's in the main car park behind Sanderson Arcade. I tweeted CYC to see if it was one of theirs but didn't get a reply! Duncan

    UK Rapid Charging

It looks like things are starting to move though. Having just nipped into my small local town in Northumberland, I noticed a new addition to one of the car parks. An ABB rapid charging station with a CCS charger attached. It's not been commissioned yet, so I don't know which cards will work with...

Uk Home Charger / Electricity Supplier

Hi Neil, It might be worth checking again with your dealer. I was anticipating my car to be ready in September originally, after I ordered it the week before Christmas, but a visit to my dealer a couple of weeks ago showed progress. Once the order system on the BMW network was opened, it turns...

    Bluetooth audio streaming

I'm very tempted to cancel my enhanced bluetooth and USB option and save myself £350. However, the one thing that is concerning me, and ties into another thread on this forum, relates to a change in the specification from build week 10 (My i3 is scheduled for build week 19). According to my...

    Bluetooth audio streaming

Hi Ross, If the setup is the same as my 5 series, the test drive I had recently seemed to show it was at least very similar, then connecting the device via USB will disable the audio Bluetooth streaming. No idea why it does this, but it does - every time! In my 5 series to correct this you need...

My i3's Active Cruise Control in action

Thanks Andy. My mistake! Having read a little more, I have been mistaking the standard cruise control with brake function, which it turns out I've already got on my 5 series, which is standard on the i3, with the active cruise control which is part of the driving assistant plus package. Looks...

My i3's Active Cruise Control in action

Thanks Andy, A really good demonstration of what looks like a very handy utility. I did though want to check that active cruise control that is standard on UK spec cars would bring the car to a standstill and that the driving assistant plus would steer the car as well below 24 mph. Is this...

My i3's Parking Assist in action - with a slight twist

Ha ha! Great to see the auto parking working. Probably best not to try the same trick with the lane departure and auto cruise control though!

Autocar UK review of i3 Rex

Hi, I came across this video of the i3 Rex on YouTube. A very positive review it was too, though the presenter doesn't seem to understand that driving round a closed road like a lunatic will have considerable impact on the range. See what you think. Duncan...

    UK

Hi, I ordered a BEV at the end of December and wait impatiently for the summer to arrive and my anticipated delivery sometime in July. As an owner and director of my own small business I have been taking an interest in the advantages or otherwise of buying my i3 through the limited company...

    UK Delays

I received the same letter. Ordered at the end of December, but not expecting delivery until July at he earliest, so the statement 'Your BMWi3 will be on its way very soon' appears a tad misleading to say the least!
