Sounds like the emergency battery cut off kicked in?! I remember reading somewhere that in an airbag deployment situation the high voltage battery physically disconnects itself. Maybe some glitch caused this to deploy? Would explain the noise on breakdown too.

i3 BEV doesn't come with the blue cable - BMW price with VAT is actually as cheap as, or better than the other places listed - I like the auto curl-up-ness it has (automatically forms into a spiral), the bag is good to have too. Go blue!

Nope, someone hit it while parked, then cleared off without leaving details. Lights are definitely bonded to glass and from what I can see only way to get to them is to de-bond the whole glass piece from the plastic tailgate frame!

They had to replace the whole tailgate on mine. The way the lights are bonded to the glass and the glass to the plastic tailgate makes it understandable, would be a nightmare to line them all up.

Agreed, that cable to the mains socket looks really short compared to mine. Hanging like that will but some pressure on the pins in the socket and could lead to a less than perfect connection = heat. Do the US chargers have three pins on the plug or just two? I know when I'm in the US the two...
