Optional ConnectedDrive services no longer available in store

Hey All, Feel your pain, My 16's subscription ended this February. 8 days in, I'm already missing the app. There's a similar problem with my other EV, Fiat 500e, but luckily a shop in Switzerland made an aftermarket solution. Its called my500e CONNECT. I may contact the parent company...

    windshield sun shades

I have the Heatshield one too. I personally prefer it to the CoverTechs I usually buy. My main issue was finding one that fit around the i3's ACC camera.

    Portable EVSE Recommendations

Since I park outside, I went with tetherless EV outlets instead. I wanted to keep as little as possible in the elements This is my mounted test box. But its two outdoor Type2(euro) outlets wired to an Openevse and JuiceBox that are in the garage. Then I made some Type2 to Type1(J1172) adapter...

    Portable EVSE Recommendations

Now that I'm built(and rebuilt) a couple EVSEs, I don't think that many of the Chinese units are inferior to the big brands As for portables I would recommend buying one that can accept 120-240v , My current favorites are Dousida and Khons; those typically have TUV and UL certifications. But...

    ConnectedDrive

I did what Bob did, because none of the remote functions on my app work anymore. While i can still check the range, location, and still connect it to alexa, everything else fails. I started to just schedule all my preconditions in the idrive, as my driving times are fairly consistent. If it...

NON OEM wheels & tires (wider)

A gotcha, AW has changed a lot. All the Motorsports enthusiasts left AW for QW, when it got bought out and changed formats, around 2010. We used to do tons of track days back then.

NON OEM wheels & tires (wider)

Are you by chance a AW or QWer? I'm an old MK1 TT owner. I had a 2002 225 coupe with a Del Rio Stage 3 kit

    Unlocking frunk with bimmercode

Yes, you need to use expert mode. There are a number of threads on the subject, like this one: https://www.mybmwi3.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=5646&start=10 I think the 3rd button can easily be set up to do both the trunk and frunk; as each button is supposed to allow for 3 functions...

    Window Tinting suggestions

I haven't decided if I'm tinting the fronts, but for the rear windows, I'm going to use Solarpexius panels. https://www.solarplexius.com/

Benchmarks: 2014 BMW i3-REx and Standard Range Plus Model 3

Mine does a bit. Its never much of a slip. But its enough to turn on the rearview camera. I coded the camera to turn on, in event of a roll backwards.

    License SuperCharger

I don't find CCS too expensive, but it the pricing do vary alot. The only 2 I use are EVgo and Electrify America. I know EVgo can vary 10 to 15 cents a minute depending on the state. And near me there is not an initial connection fee. EA is typically higher and I don't know how it works in...

    i3 purchase 94rex or 120 bev

For me it depends on charging infrastructure. I like to take mine on long distance journeys and at the moment I need at least 190 mi of highway range to make it to DC charging stations. So until the charging infrastructure improves, I'm staying with a REX. If I was only using it at a city...

    NEWBIE REX ACTIVATION QUESTION

As I just got back from a 500mi road trip in mine. My take: Hold SOC can last 100s on miles... Speed is a very minor factor to point, but the aircon is the biggest. For the first 225mi, i kept it in eco pro+, no air con, ACC set at speed limit(60-75mph) I arrived at my first dc charge with...

Conflicting listing info on 2017 BEV

I believe the 94ah battery was an option in 2017. The only 2017s that definitely have the 94ah battery are the 2017 REX. I'd go by whatever the VIN decoder is telling you, that's how I found the exact one I wanted. Far too many dealers do not list the option list correctly.

    Updating Maps

I ended up paying for the maps, because I need have a cable to use the FSC generator. Very simple process and I complete recommend going to the cheapest vendor, because they are all selling the same thing. Particularly the ones that send you a download link. You are essentially just paying for...

Bimmercode and changing when the Rex comes on.

thanks, I do already have the 75% hold SOC enable in. I just wanted to see if i could raise the safety net of the REX automatically turning on.

    Preconditioning without ConnectedDrive?

Did anyone figure out how to precondition and keep the panic alarm on the key fob? I reprogrammed my fob using Bimmercode's expert mode, but some of the the functions do not see to allow the Short/Mid/Long? Short on both the 3rd and 4th button do not see to allow for any changes to take hold...

Bimmercode and changing when the Rex comes on.

I couldn't find any definitive info if this has worked for others with Bimmercode on expert mode. So far is see: you go to the Kombi section, turn on expert mode. Then go to: 3000 Anzeige_Konfiguration Section: SOC_HOLD_POSITION Inside there the stock position is Werte=0C Which I hear...

    Cargo Liners?

I'm going to test out Cover Craft's custom fit cargo liner, I found it on sale on their outlet store for $50. Instead on $98 I'd link it but they took it offline immediately after I bought it. You can find it on their eBay outlet store here...

    Rex Range seems unusually high

After a road trip, I see it as high as 105mi on the Rex. It slowly readjusts to the 80mi range over few city drives
